Garth Snows Plan!June 10, 2012 11:00 am
Hey Darren, The Islanders, like all NHL teams, are eager to see what the collective bargaining agreement is going to look like. A new CBA may help guide them, but the Isles will have to comply with whatever the structure of the salary cap is. However, without a new building and the ongoing speculation over the future of the franchise, selling free agents on the merits of moving to Long Island is a very difficult challenge. The Isles are a good, young team that isn't far from being a very good team, but the uncertainty that plagues this organization definitely impacts the on-ice product. |

Jason Garrison (D) has transformed into a blue line scorer with a heavy shot, 27 years old, perfect age for the Isles, 6'2" 218, good size, would be a great compliment with Hamonic.
Joe Corvo (D), Tim Gleason (D) or Bryan Allen (D) and maybe Rozsival.........I have faith in Garth! IGWT! |

I dont recall where I heard it, but Johnny Oduya might be an option for the Isles.

Oduya re-signed with Chicago.
Jason Garrison, perfect guy, he is making like $675,000, give him $2.3-2.5 Million a year, he's Isles Property! IGWT! |

Reposted from JVR thread:
Isles trade for JVR, put him on JT's line with Moulson Golden, depending on Strome's Camp, if not put him with Frans and Kyle. Sign Ray Whitney, old man but still puts it in the net, add some Vet Leadership and can be bought cheap enough. Put on the 3rd line with Bailey. Resign Matt Martin and promote David Ullstrom. Send Nino to Bridgeport till the playoff push! Isles D: Hamonic, Streit, Donovan and Macdonald, SIGN Jason Garrison, Bryan Allen and bring back Campoli. Oil the steps to the dressing room, tell DP ONLY there is a meeting, then after he bashes into a couple hundred pieces they can sweep him up and dump into an executive position. Let Nilsson and the "Poulin Wall" battle it out to backup Nabby for the first half, then depending on Nabby's play the winner gets the saddle for the playoff push! Why not, Got Holtby? On the 1st Day of the 2012-13 Season, Here's my prediction for the 2012-13 NY Islanders: Trade the 4th Overall and a 3rd (4th pick in round) and a 4th (12th pick in round) with Washington for their Draft picks #12 and #16Isles Draft: Griffin Reinhart D at #12 and Matt Finn #16. Offense: JVR-JT-Moulson Grabner-Frans-Kyle Whitney-Bailey-Ullstrom Martin-Reasoner-Cizikas Defense: Streit-Hamonic Garrison-MacDonald Allen-Campoli Donovan Goalies: Nabby Poulin Finish 3rd in the Atlantic at 41-31-11 for 93 points. Go to the 2nd Rd of the Playoffs and lose to the Bruins. JT scores 107 points, 43g 64a, Moulson scoes 36 goals for 4 straight 30+, Grabner rebounds for 31 goals, Bailey scores 21 with 33 assists, Kyle 28g 34a, Whitney 30g 23a, JVR 31g 31a and Frans scores 22 with 38a. D have 4 guys with at least 10 goals Streit, Hamonic, Garrison and Macdonald. Nabby wins 31 games, Poulin 10. Frans comes in second for the Selke, Capuano wins coach of the Year. There you have it folks............the Kool-aid is flowing like a RAGING RIVER! Isles Draft Party June 22 at the Coliseum, yours truly will be there AGAIN! IGWT! |
