well the NHL part of the site says they play the winner of the New Jersey/Florida series which is decided on Thursday, but what I don't understand is how they cannot know the times and dates of the next round yet, that is the goofiest thing I have ever seen.  How can you not have your dates laid out well in advance the same as baseball, football and basketball do, even MLS does...what is wrong with the NHL?

hawk-answer - gary bettmen.

phoggy-don't know yet and nj/florida is not correct. if ny wins as the #1 and #2 boston and #3 florida all win, it's ny-philly. as it's #1-5 and 2 vs 3. there's no way it can be florida-philly as that is a 3-5 matchup. now if 1, 2, 3 all lose it's 5-8, 6-7. so it's philly-ottawa.

btw-josh willingham given 4 days off for baseball (fantasy) for maternity leave ? did he have the kid ? 4 freaking days ? sorry, but your job and teammates need you. you're a millionaire, hire an au pare and get back to my squad. jeez.

I just like Holstein cows. We don't dairy, but we have one that was our daughter's 7th Christmas present.
Pretty much rules out you living in NYC when your daughter turned 7.

His real baseball owner gave him 4 days off.  I doubt many, if any, fantasy owners would have done the same.  lol

Cat,
We need a big outing from Hamels today.
My ex was in Pa last week and took in an Iron Pigs series. If Manual doesent retire this year Sandburg manages in the bigs elsewhere next year.
The Phillies need a makeover on offense now. Way too many 30 somethings to win it alll again.
We have a future "middle infielder" but he needs to learn how to hit, remember Ozzie cams up and couldn't hit for about his 1st 5 or 6 years. Galvin isn't that type of glove and doesn't have that type of time IMO.

PHOGGY-im game for that. give me a call. if you're teasing me and it's all a lie, then i don't appreciate that. Wink

yam-galvis' glove is awesome. he has made highlight reel after highlight reel at 2b! if he could only hit.

sandberg HAS to take over in 2013. the cards passed on him, so the phils got lucky. someone else will grab him and they are screwed. charlie is in the last year of his contract or second to last year, so just retire for sandberg. everyone talks about how classy manual is-lets see come sept if he is. sandberg has brought the iron pigs to their best record and playoffs back to back years. no one else ever did that there. give him the freaking job!!!

Good morning folks!

Been gone on business the past couple weeks, and busy as all get out before that.  Hope all have been well.

Thanks for keeping my trophy cleaned up and stored properly for my return.  Wink

Catfish, now I'm confused my friend.

If Phoggy is just teasing you, would you not appreciate missing out on the drink, or being with three middle-aged wild women?????

BOTH. I roll like that.

NFL Draft tonight. Andy Reid will mess up another draft. I hope ND's Michael Floyd goes to a good team.

Dallas, NY and Washington still suck a$$! haha.

Before anyone gets too excited, I've heard rumors that one of the three wild female things is the cow in phoggy's av.  Then again, as local Police Blotters periodically drive home, cows do not always go unappreciated.

I am soooooooo mad.  I see where the NFL players union is trying to get rid of the Pro Bowl.  BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Highlight of ever football season for me...........That game is useless.  Pretty much a caricature of football.

Good morning all.

When one says middle aged, what age range does that cover?  Since the avg American female lives to about 79 so middle of that is 40 years old.  Say you give that 8 years on each side and middle age is 32 to 48.  Catfish just turned 40 as I recall so have fun buddy, that's right in your wheelhouse.

Sad to think at 42 next week, my life is more than half over.

I'm inclinced to believe the range of what qualifies as "middle aged" correspondingly increases as the person doing the defining gets older.  Cool

Didn't those rock and roll guys back in the 60's/70's say, "Don't trust anyone over 30?"  LMAO  They're singing a vastly different tune now.

Ha Catfish, you are my FB pal too, you can see my pic, full head of hair, although my wife did find 1 grey one recently in the temple area.  One is all though...I made her check the rest.  I really could not care about it as my uncle went grey in college I recall.

My Dad doesn't have much hair left, but I think the baldness thing goes through the mother side, so I should be safe, they all had good hair.

Can't wait til next Thurs, will be at the Cardinals day game with my daughter...it's against the Pirates so they should win.

Guess that means I've been dead awhile, Stew.  Laughing

Hawk, enjoy the Cardinals game my friend.  Sure to be fun for you and your daughter being together there, regardless of the outcome.

Lil, couldn't agree more on the end of the Pro Bowl joke of a game.  Finally I can agree with a decision made by the NFL and the player's union.  Had some meaning back in the day when player's were playing for a winner's paycheck that amounted to almost as much as a full season's salary for many of them.  Hasn't meant squat to the present day's prima donnas for several decades though.

Catfish I see what you are saying, so they are at least using the traditional scenario, so even if 8 beats 1, they would play Philly, so it is either Ottawa or New York, then the other bracket is between the other 4 teams.  Close series in the East, the West is all ready to go, not sure why they aren't setting times and getting going in the West.
