What if we did go out and pay what, 24 million or something like that for a 7th round career backup who had two  great games, with a stacked offense.  I don't think he would have been that big an upgrade over McCoy at this point.  For the most part it seems like they stick to their plan and don't blink.
I'll remember you said that, Dawggin  Wink

So here is my call.  They trade down out of #4 to 6 and get Riley Reif for RT.  By the time the 1st round is done we have two starting grade olinemen.  Then rounds 2-3 pick up some skilled players, and finally a QB in like round 5 or 6.  Not saying this is what would excite me or what I would have like to see, but it sure would fit their M O.
Not on your life.  I think we would have to run you out of town along with Holmgren and Heckert.  If they came away with two linemen out of their top two or three picks, I'd be forced to take a flame-thrower to that place.  Riley Reiff is a very nice lineman don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't look his or any other's direction until the middle-to-late second round.
We need offense I grant you, which starts with linemen.  Yet, you can get quality linemen later while the skill players drop off more significantly.  While there are only about three or four stud linemen at every OL position in the draft as far as I am concerned, the great amount of offensive guys with play making ability is a much harsher plummet.
There are arguably more quality skill players I give you, but the guys who will have to come in and start day one aren't as plentiful as people think.  A lot of guys will probably pan out to a good degree eventually.  But with the lack of free agent signings you HAVE to get guys that start out strong with still a high learning curve to go even further.  We have spent way too much time mixing and matching personnel to see what group works best.  Give me guys who take their position and literally run with it.
