Well it was a typical first day for me while the missus is away. She'll be back from Tuesday to Saturday before going to Vancouver for a chemistry conference for a week. I see a lot of fast food in my future.
I of course did not go to the gym this morning, but I'm blaming the cold I've had the last two days rather than laziness due to bachelorhood.
Because of my cold, I didn't go see Strasburg pitch last night @ PNC, but I watched it. He fanned 13 and would have lost had ex-Bucco Adam LaRoche not taking Correia( He doesn't look Asian) deep for a two run bomb.
I am going to tomorrow's game for Joel Hanrahan Bobble Head night. I would rather have Val do a Bobble Head impersonation for me, but oh well. "Ground Chuck" Charlie Morton should be able to beat the lowly not "Cash Money" Astros and I will have a collectable representing the worst hair/beard combo in all of sports.
I did not vote on the trade. I would rather that it passed. Fred has a strong team. He was willing to water it down to a bad team, sorry Estle, on speculation. I think shooting it down was a bad move and hope to see the same deal clear over the weekend.
acutally I agree with Frank.. ie my prior post of taking up a bench spot but if it pisses off Fred we will get another 10 pages of Hall of Fame worthy material so it's all good
I always get a good laugh out of Fred defending his facacta logic
The Sixers beat the Bulls to advance in the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade and now have an old Celtics team waiting for them...didn't realize that the teams were bracketed rather than the lowest seed facing the highest seed...they caught a major break avoiding the Heat for another round.
Dave got exactly what he needed from Sabathia (30 points in a win and no save from my Brian Robertson) and combined with his three Texas Rangers players absolutely killing it now leads by almost 85 points. My only saving grace is that he has at least 4 SPs remaining who are quite capable of imploding, but I'm not holding my breath.
I always get a good laugh from Dave when he on one hand says that the deal I made with Estle aquiring Albert Puljos for Yu Darvish is bad for my team and thinks it hamstrings my flexibility and then with the same forked tongue takes credit for getting the required veto votes to send it to the CBS Commissioner...his hypocracy obviously has no bounds.
The fact remains that we both think we are getting the better end of the deal and I just don't understand what the rest of you (excluding Dave...he's just a douche bag) have against two owners trying to improve their respective teams the best way they see fit. Almost nothing would be more satisfying than to see the CBS Commish let the deal go through...wishful thinking.
I am taking suggestions for Fred's avi that he should use for the next 6 weeks.. unless I get him to agree to another stupid bet to make it longer... PM me a link to your sugestion
