Seau's death is officially a suicide?  What's up with all that?  That is the singlemost selfish act a person can perpetrate in my opinion.  What about your spouse, your children, your parents and friends?   Wow, on top of all that your money and business partners.  It just blows me away.  Not that I knew him or anything.  I'm not crying about it....it just boggles my mind.  Maybe there's more to it than we'll ever know.



With that said, maybe Roger Goodell is not that bad after all.  His zero tolerance on the bounty scandal and the advancements for player safety should be seen differently in light of this most recent death of a former player.


Also, don't forget the case of former WWE superstar Chirs Benoit who killed his wife and young son before taking his own life.  Sure maybe he was a 'roid freak but he also went all-out in his profession and suffered many a concussion and most insiders actually believe that this was the most prevalent factor in that case.  Since then, Vince McMahon has instituted a Talent Wellness Policy for all former/current talent and if I'm correct has banned chair shots to the head.  Infractions are penalized with fines and/ or suspensions. 


Anyways, I think society as a whole should start to finally realize that concussions in any sports or endeavor are a really big deal and should be dealt with the utmost seriousness.

I watched the last two periods of the Devils victory over the Flyers last night and also tuned into the end of the Yankees game on MLB Network to see if I could determine who might get the closing responsibility the rest of the season.  When I saw Soriano come out for the 8th inning with the Yankess trailing by a run, I decided to scoop David Robertson just in case...we'll see over the weekend if I guessed correctly.

I trail Val by 15 points, but have a 1 SP advantage the rest of the way...with nothing coming from Evan Longoria the rest of the scoring period (and at least 1 month for that matter), our contest will not likely be decided until Sunday night.  Seeing as how it is Val I'm matched up with all week, can you really blame me for wanting to take my time???

I've decided to postpone any future attempts at acquiring a new 3B upgrade over Chase Headley...the more I look at all of the possible players I could trade for, the more all except for a very select few look the same.

I think my primary focus now is on adding an OF (but could be any player) that can be used in my Utility slot...just many more options across multiple teams to consider.

If you have an elite OF on your roster, you very likely have a trade offer to consider.

Everyone except for Dave has a trade offer to consider...I don't have any SPs on my roster outside of Cliff Lee he would find value in.

I'm not saying these are my final offers, but if you think you need SP, imo there is no team with more depth than I have.

Good morning GB10.  The Brewers are going to provide me with plenty of frustration this year.  What do they have to show for 18 innings of "work" in San Diego?  Zero runs and 9 hits.  Pathetic. 

They lost to Jeff Suppan, of all people!  He hadn't won--heck he handn't even pitched in the majors--since 2010.  And in the other game, Mark Kotsay, another former Brewer, hit a 2 run HR in the 8th to win the game.  Worse, Braun hurt himself sliding into second base and Gamel is out for the season with a torn ACL.  It's going to be a long season. 

Hopefully, this is taken in the spirit it is intended, which is sincere.  Val, I hope your Mother does well.

Admitting your errors in judgement is the first step to recovery Dave...if you don't learn from your mistakes, you are doomed to repeat them.

I had to double-check the transaction history to ensure that there isn't a single SP that I have on my current roster that you ever owned and I am correct...though I would have loved to get my hands on Lynn.  Now I will openly admit that if you look at the team that Frank originally drafted, I think I have 3 of his SPs (Ricky Romero, Madison Bumgarner, Yu Darvish) and boy is my team the better for it.

I'm waiting to see what combination if any between Lawrie, Alvarez, or Davis ever live up to their potential. I won't drop either of those three for a while. There's not much I want so I'm not desperate. If you want to do something crazy like improve my SP and C while taking Elsbury and Lawrie, then I would consider that.
