Good Saturday Afternoon GB10, how's everyone's brackets looking after all of the craziness yesterday?

I've have been in my last week of Green Belt training so obviously I'm playing catch-up, but here goes:

Kansas isn't going far.  Either is UNLV, Duke, Syracuse, Michigan St.

Murray St will beat Marq.  Louisville will win 3 games.  Mizzou will get to the final 4.  UK, FSU, UNC will also get to the final 4.

South Florida will be one of the major upsets, along with Notre Dame over Duke.

Look out for Harvard, LBSU, and Colorado.

Some good thoughts and some not so good...even though you were right about Duke, UNLV, and South Florida that Mizzou loss has to sting.  In my for money brackets I haven't lost any Final 4 teams and am currently in 1st Place...not to mention I have 1 bracket in ESPN that is in the 99.6 percentile...not too shabby.

Does anyone know the story about the NFL fining the Cowboys and Redskins for being over the cap?  Was it a situation where the NFL's interpretation of a "gray area" differed from there's? An outright blunder by those teams? A situation where they didn't disclose the entire contract and got caught?

These two slimeball teams were penalized for trying to circumvent the salary cap structure last year by front-loading elite player's salaries into that uncapped year due to no CBA.  All of the owners (including Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder) had agreed that they would all continue to strcture contracts based on the prior CBA so that the owners flush with cash couldn't take advantage of an uncapped year thus giving them an unfair advantage when the new CBA was finalized.  I don't know if the two idiots thought that the new CBA salary cap structure would be substantially different or if they just didn't give a crap, but I'm glad that the NFL came down hard on them for these boneheaded moves.


I'm trying my best to clear my schedule to be at the draft tommorow night...we'll see if I'm successful or not.

My early thoughts on NFL free agency are as follows:

If the Broncos front office can convince Peyton Manning to choose Denver over his old college stomping grounds in Tennessee and a "lifetime" position within the Titans organization, then I will be happier than a tornado in a trailer park...lol

I'm very surprised that Mario Williams never really ever considered a destination outside of Buffalo...I know the Bills were desperate to get him and were going to do everything to keep him from leaving without his name signed on the dotted line...just didn't think that knowing the penny-pinching tendacies of Ralph Wilson, that he would do what it takes to make it happen.  Now the question is does he have the impact on their defense that Reggie White did for the Packers nearly two decades ago?

The Buccaneers landing Carl Nicks, Vincent Jackson, and Eric Wright will very likely make them the "winners" of free agency, but when was the last time that counted for anything?

Which draft is the right one again or has the wrong one been canceled?

uhoh  here we go again,,

What a Tourney so far... all the teams I could potentially root for are in except my emergency back-up Duke..

I only root for Duke when every Ohio, Big 10(except Purdue-Ihate Purdue), KY, Louisville and my two oddball favorites for the name... The SI Salukis and the WKY Hilltoppers are eliminated... because Coach K was my hero Bobby Knight's Asst and his protege..


so far all 5 Ohio teams, KY, Louiville most of the big 10 and my beloved IU Hoosiers (have not been able to say that for 10 years) are still in it!!!!   this is unprecedented 

Brandon Lloyd is still an @$$hole for talking his way to the scrubbiest team in the NFC because of "this Tebow thing". I am , however, happy to see that he signed with the Patriots.

I can't see how Manning wouldn't play for the same franchise where Montana played for the COY who was also the last real starter for The Colts. In that division, they would instantly have a playoff bye every year.

calling Brandon Lloyd a douche bag would be offensive to douche bags

Manning to 49ers would not work from a legacy perspective.. he would always be 2nd or 3rd best to Montana and Young

He would have his face carved in the side of a mountain if he can take the Titans all the way 

having his brother win more rings complcates things so he needs a situation he can control and fast.. right now he is the 2/3rd best QB in the Manning family
