Oh well, now to the Isaac sweepstakes.

I highly doubt we will land him either... but I won't panic over him either... now when Treadwell will pull a Jordan Diamond on us, that'll be a pi$$er.

Too bad on Levenberry, and Bosa for that matter, but even if rest of the roster filled out w/ 3 stars its quite a class.

Didn't someone about a week ago say they wanted to see the rest of the roster filled with RR types - WR's and Slots?  Maybe he'll get his wish - the last 6 spots turning out to be a bunch of RR type kids afterall...

With the senior season, a bunch of kids ratings will go up, some will go down, and a number of kids will shine and get noticed, now that they either get from under the shadow of some last year's senior, or, with a another year of growth, fill-in & muscle up and play big.

Funny, I notice that when a kid decides against UM - fans here wish the kid luck.  When the Buck's lose a kid from ohio to UM, suddenly he's not that good and the bucks didn't want him anyway.

Well, loosing out on Levenberry sucks, but it doesn't really hurt this overall class. Like I said ina an earlier thread, he was a luxury at this point...a luxury I thought was bound for Ann Arbor. Now that we know he isn't on board, here's my guess at the final 7 (assuming 24 as the max.

- Ty Isaac
- Leqoun Treadwell
- Kendall Fuller
- Henry Poggi
- Kenton Gibbs
- Alquadin Muhammad

Fuller is even more of a pipe dream than Bosa was...  Poggi is definitely a possibility though...  I don't think we will fill this class with 23-24, it will probably be around 20-21.  We'll get someone for the DL, a WR or 2, and some surprise towards the signing day.  Overall the class will be very good, but I think we'll miss on all the recruits at the top of the board.

wow I couldnt disagree with that more, I wouldn't even call Fuller a long shot, I'd say he'll be tough to pull but that's it. He loved his visit and has a former teammate who plays the same position already on the team. Again, not saying he's a lock, but they have a much better chance at landing him than they did Bosa.

No way.  We are good shape with far too many high end prospects to whiff on them all.  I think we finish up with Three to Four 4 star athletes and three 3 star guys and a Top 5 class.

Again, not saying he's a lock, but they have a much better chance at landing him than they did Bosa.

If all things where equal I think Michigan would have a legit chance but swaying him from VaTech and the chance to play with his brother is probably too much to overcome, regardless of the Countess connection.  GO BLUE!!

You are definitely entitled to yourt opinion, but pulling Fuller from ViTech would take a recruiter and closer of Saban's level... Hoke is not in the same league when it comes to that.

I can realistically see us getting Poggi... but that's it.  We'll get other players and will most likely have to replace a few decommits, at the end I see a class of 20-21 without Isaac, Treadwell, Fuller, Mathis, or Cravens.

The more I see of Deveon Smith the more I think Isaac is a luxury at this point, similar to Levenberry. It'd be great if they landed him but if they don't I wouldn't be concerned about the rb position.

I expect that by the time NSD arrives the top 50 kids in the rankings will change up somewhat, perhaps even a current commit or two break into the top end who are not there now.  And a lot depends on which service is doing the rankings.

As far as Elite WR's go, this may be on Shane, can he demonstrate to WR's they want him to be on the their passer.

It may take some consistant passing to the TE's to get more elite talent there... Demonstrating that the TE is a serious pass option in the UM offense.

Re: DT and NT, I suspect a lot of that falls on Mattison and Hoke, can they convince the elite inside guys that they can get them to the next level.

Not sure what it'd take to get more elite DB's.

However, the OL and LB prospects seem sold on UM.  I don't understand how the OL haul of last season and the commits this season are not causing the RB's to flock to UM.

Maybe it does come down to garish uni's?

I completely agree, after Toussaint is gone I am perfectly happy with Ralws/Smith/Shallman being power guys while Jonhson/Hayes/Norfleet being the quick and shifty guys...  plus whatever running back we land next year...  Isaac is nowhere near a top priority right now.  The biggest priorities are Treadwell and Poggi.

Seems we're getting a feel for who is, or is not likely to go Blue among the attention getters.

But among the very good, but not not in the spotlight kids, who is likely to go Blue?   Any names jumping out?  Any thing particularly special about 'em?

I really don't think any of these guys are leaning UM, except maybe that last guy?  Where did you get this list of hot prospects?  More like a wish list.  You've had a good class so far but the consensus is you are losing steam.  The big hitters, Brian Kelly and Urban Meyer are starting to catch up in a big way.  Even Dantonio is picking up steam and he's a nose picker.

but the consensus is you are losing steam

<sigh>  w/ only a few slots left, what did you expect?  UM is supposed to keep bringing in another 1-3 top kids/ month for the next 10 months?  That'd take like, 40 spots in the class to keep up the current pace.  Isn't over-signing illegal?  Oh, wait, that the SOP in the SEC.  So while its clearly unethical, its probably not illegal.

Its not how fast or how slow a team fills their commit sheet, its the quality and potential.  As w/ last yrs class, we know that a fast start is great, but its not the final word on the class rankings.  We also know that class rankings are not the determininate of NC's or even B1G championships.  We're pumped up about the quality of players who have decided they want to become Michigan Men, and getting off to a fast start is nice, but not final.

Obvious to us, is that the kids' final season of HS ball will raise / lower some kids marks, bring others into the spotlights, and other teams will be getting good, quality kids too.  The current team recruiting ranking is nothing more than a starting place, and who knows how it'll all pan out in the end.  We like the kids already committed, hope to see some more 4-5 Stars join the list, but even if the rest of the class fills out w/ 3 stars, and a couple 2 star kicker- Punters, its still really nice class.

This class is going along a very similar path as last year's... started fast, ended slow, landed in the top 10...
