Fuzz absolutly play Brown. Belicheck will try and take away Wallace and Brown should have a humungus day against the defence. As for the rest of the players I don't have a strong feeling for any of them but I do however feel like the Lions are in a trap game and will lose so you might want to stay away from them and go with battle.

I wouldn't have traded anyone had CJ2K started out decently, and if Big Ben could've put up more than 15 on average.  But as it stands, I've got RDMC, The Jets, and well, that's about it

Yes treff - thet lost thier last two games, so now just like you - everyone else will be betting on the Lions to win thinking that their backs are against the wall and that they will play ferociously. Plus everyone thinks Tebow sucks. You tell me how many people would be picking the Broncos to win this game. Probably none, all the money will be on the Lions. Do you get that ding dong?

Hey Foot, I would say the Lions trap game was at home against the 49ers. I say this game they come out and destroy the Broncos.............

Foot,
A "trap" game is a reference used to describe a good team, on a hot streak rolling into an underdog, overlooking them and getting beat.  The Lions are not on a hot streak, they're on a losing streak.

they may very well lose agian, but teams that have lost two straight don't look at an oppponent the same way we, and sports announcers/analysts/writers do.  That coach, those assistants, and those players are not looking past Denver when they're coming off two straight losses.  And if they lose, they are in a losing streak, not becuase they were trapped into overlooking their opponent.
And no team with a quesitonable, possibly not even playing, starting QB looks past an opponent to start with.

Just more evidence to prove my beliefs I guess

OK maybe I missed the defintion of the phrase "trap game".What I should have said was stay away from Lions players this week because I feel like everyone will be picking the lions to win, and I feel they will have a bad game and will lose to the underdog Broncos!

sorry Fuzz, now that we've gone off on yet another Foot tangent, your quesiton is buried back a page or so.

I would go with waht you've got.  Battle will probably get the most touches of any of your options, and thus is probably the safest choice, and Brown is simply a homerun hitter, in a game where there is a good chance that multiple homeruns are hit.  As for Pettigrew, even if Stafford plays, he just doens't ever seem to put it together, and if Stafford doesn't play, he may very well be worthless anyway, Shuan Hill is force it to Calvin no matter what guy, if I recall correctly from last year.   And Morris just doesn't get the really important touches, those usually seem to go to Williams.

Fuzzy, I agree with the everybody here that Battle and Brown are the way to go.

And about the number of trades in the league, which is indeed very high, up until the Rodgers/Rice trade they were all driven by injury/autodraft or were tweaks with players deep on a bench. But the last couple of weeks the trades have been flying like crazy, with serious players involved.

I also have five left from my original draft, and they are all from the first six rounds. The only player of actual value I traded away was Vick (and only because of the emergence of Cam), and the only player of actual value I got in return was Bryant.

The top drafted guy Foot has left is Reggie Bush, from the sixth round. And he's still got his kicker, his DST, and a re-added Spiller.

After reading this, it just seems cruel to keep piling on The Foot about his team.

(Sigh)

Oh well.  I can live with being a basturd. After all, he brings it on all by his little old self.

OK - Thanks for the input. I will forget about my flex decision-Brown and Battle are in.

As for originally drafted players still on my roster... I only have 3 left- Brees, Ingram, and Addai. And I'm not sure that Addai has deserved to stay.
I was not unhappy after the draft. However, my team was tossed on its ear early when my 1st round pick and 4th overall went out for the season in the first series of the second game. It started a series of drops, trades, moves that I felt were needed to overcome this early bad luck.

Top eight picks summary:

#1 Injury-out for season
#2 Brees still on my roster, thank goodness.
#3 Traded Jennings for a RB to replace Charles.
#4 Ingram
#5 I missed on Grant here
#6 Probably was too impatient with Garzon- dropped him too early but he was really bad at the start of the year
#7 S Moss-broke his hand
#8 Addai

Other than that, I did not hit on anyone that wasn't expendable when a need arose.

Oh and by the way Sam-
We do play a TE and I have been using Pettigrew but was able to trade for Gates when he was injured from a needy owner. This is the first week Gates is in my lineup. I am keeping Pettigrew as a potential flex and a backup to Gates in case he doesn't hold up.

Wil over Foot - The Hindenburgh, The Titanic, The Bismarck, The USS Indianapolis, The Edmund Fitzgerald, and The SS Minnow.  Next on our list of catastrophic disasters:  The Foot.

Doug, this was funny. You are quite the word smith. One correction: instead of "the foot," how about "Das Foot?"
I realize Joe's autodraft basically dictated he had to scramble.

The weird thing about "trading" though was that it was others that came to me with the trade offers. I was glad to get the offers I got. And I don't feel I "settled" or accepted less than face value. They were fair and hard to pass up.

I only have 2 of my originally drafted players - Gore and Reggie Wayne.

My draft.
Drafting last I felt like all top rbs would be gone so I tried to get the best at other positions.
1. Megatron. I felt like he would be the top wr this season.
2. Rivers. I missed on this one and it's really hurting my team. Passed on McFadden because he's hurt to much.
3. Blount. Tried to get a solid rb hoping to get around 12 pts a week.
4. Greene. I can't believe I took him and got burned 2 years in a row.
5. Davis. Wanted one of the top tes. Would have much rather had Witten.
6. Maclin. I felt like he was a great value.
7. Smith. Believe it or not I had this guy targeted. With Fox gone I thought he would have a good season. I didn't see this coming though.
8. Steelers. I thought they were the safest pick to be one of the top dst. Highest I've ever taken a dst
9. Mathews. Again I thought it was a value pick. Lots of upside for a 9th round pick.
10. Williams. I rolled the dice and lost.
11. Bush. I took him just because McFadden is always hurt.
12. Cowboys. Thought Rob Ryan might turn them into a good dst.
13. Ringer. I thought Johnson would blow a hammy after the hold out.
14. Hartley. Kicker on a scoring offense. Dropped him but added his replacement.

So looks like I dropped 4 that I drafted. Or 3 depending on how you look at the kicker situation.

BTW, with all of the Foot talk after "The Trade" I thought he drafted a pretty decent team from the position he was in. With the strength he had at WR I personally thought he would get away with DeAngelo Williams as his #1 RB and I don't think anybody thought he would be this bad. The DWill/Hightower trade actually would have looked better for him if A) Satanahan wasn't Hightower's HC and B) Hightower could have stayed healthy. Then it all went pretty much down hill with the lack of RB depth. Just my take.

First treff - your the biggest we reason we all go off on a foot tangent. This latest one was me answering fuzzies request about his players and then you like usuall calling me out about something or another.

Duff- I don't mind hearing from everyone it actually boosts my ego even more if that is posible. I get a little support from you guys from time to time and that is enough for me.

Sam - That was my stratigie to go big with wrs. in a 3 wr setting I felt that possition would be depleated the quickest. Fitzgerald really killed me i the first round. Should have gone with Calvin he was almost picked but i just didn't trust his injury proness. Also, Bush has been a huge let down byt that was a heartfelt pick as I had Miami Dolphin blinders on. That just shows you to be careful when picking your favorite teams players.

I am very happy right now because i feel like I have a bonified number 1 draft pick on my team now. I also think Jenkins and D. Thomas are here to stay and will grad out well with Fitz and Steve Johnson. That's why i made the trade cause I love Jenkins and Thomas going forward. let's not forget what Thomas is. he is explosive with soft hands. He has had problems staying healthy but he could be one of the best wr from this point forward. And maybe I am just trying to reafirm my trade by saying this but I think witten will fall off in production like two seasons ago and Shianco will shine like two seasons ago with Frave  when Farve was good.

Some more insight into mine and Treffs trade and why I did it. I felt the need to explain it more for some reason maybe to reasure myself. Maybe because some of you are actually waivering my confidence a little with all the coments about how I am losing big on this deal. nah that's not the reason because I have no doubts about it. Either way I though it would be insightful and interesting to learn how it manifested.

First let me say - Treff wasn't budging as I had offered him Wallace, Beanie and Flacco for CJ n Tebow he shot that down. So knowing I had to do what I had to do to get  Chris Johnson I knew it was now or never. CJ was that shinny new corvette that I just had to have.

How my offer came about. So after my Jenkins prediction I watched the whole Vikings game. And Jenkins had a solid game but I also noticed that Shianco was getting targeted just as much as Jenkins. Ponder was looking at him a lot. That happened and it just sat in the back of my mind. I also have notice Witten has not been as impressive has he should be latley.

Now back to Tuesday, So after I put up the trade once again on Monday - Beanie, Flacco and Wallace for CJ and Tebow and here it was Teusday and still Treff didn't except I though ok treff realizes Cj is going to get it going but i still senced I could get him. That's when i decided "Hmmm I love Shianco, I really want CJ so what's the next logicall move - I knew treff was a Cowboy fan so I figure Witten would be my closer. Then I started thinking wait there are a lot of guys right now that are desparate for a fulltime RB. I really, really wanted Cj and didn't want to go back and forth so I decided I would close the deal right here and now.

I honestly didn't think I'd get a second chance at him with all the other desparate teams that needed CJ. So i threw Steve Johnson to the dogs figuring he could slow down anyhow. And even though I am a huge Bills advocate and predicted they would win the division this year (it's on these message boards somewhere if you don't believe) I think they are going to ground and pound more. That's why I kept saying CJ Spiller was going to be a monster - there was a monster to emerge in buffalo that part was right it just was not Spiller.

So there maybe that makes a little more sence to some of you who seem to be scratching your head. After tomorrow you'll see the method to my madness!

I like explianing things to you guys and anytime I can be of further assistance please each one of you don't hesitate to aks, I'm here for you "ALL"
