The talent level is about the same but a slight edge for Santoro in terms of experience and the overall service game. And it could be safe to say that Santoro have been playing better tennis the past 2 months. He got unlucky on the being on the hardest side of the draw chart by getting Nadal in Qatar. And in the AO he went farther than Hanescu all the while facing stiffer competition. Hanescu lost to an average Dudi Sela in the AO and Santoro made it to Round 3, getting a few licks on Roddick. I think the books made a mistake by making Santoro the underdog, despite what the ranking #'s says.
