Prayers

July 23, 2012 6:51 pm

Please keep praying for the victims and families of the Colorado shooting. It has been touching to hear some of the heroic stories and devastating to hear and see the greif. Pray for healing and that people would be drawn to God. Pray for comfort.

Lifting up each and every person who comes to this thread!

On a sports related note. It is a dark day for me today being a Seattle Mariners fan since they joined the league in 1977. They traded one of our heroes to the Evil Empire!

Praying for all and miss seeing Sissy's posts

Yes, me too!!

I am doing better these days, so thank you for your prayers for me. Anxiety is much better (changed meds and got off others- LESS is better) Sleeping better as of late (PTL what a blessing). Dealing with chronic back pain that got really bad last week .... better now. Going to seek injections again, and/or pain management. Try to only take over counter, but getting rougher.

Gators,

I hope all is well with the family situation. Still in my prayers, brother!

.... Things are not always what they seem. I had a situation today with a coworker. We have not seen eye to eye. I had been judging his character and motives, as have others. Going through it again today, I was rude and very standoffish. Holy Spirit got a hold of me and I repented in my chair. That wasn't enough .... this verse came to mind ....

Matthew 5:23-24

New International Version (NIV)

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

I was humbled, and called the person, apologized, just to find out a world of issues that are dramatically affecting his life. Makes my issues look like fairyland. I would not had known had I not called to ask for forgiveness, and he confided in me his life issues. I don't see evidence of the person being a Christian. We spoke abour faith a bit, told him I would be praying over him. Please pray for him too. The Lord opened this door (through my sin) and I believe intends to use me. Pray for me and God's work.

................ things are not always what they seem.............

Romans 12:17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Thanks, Guys.
I had a long conversation with my son the other day, and I think he is taking steps to straighten out his family situation.  I just pray that my daughter- in- law's heart will turn to the Lord- that's really the solution to it all.  I lift up all these requests, and my nephew's wife and daughter as he depoys with the Air Force to Bahrain.

Greg

2 Corinthians 5

Awaiting the New Body

5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

WT, God confirmed the decision, just working in his time now. Been praying for Sissy and mom and everyone here. I have been invited to preach Thursday night at a friend of mine's church. I am really excited about what God has put on my heart. I am working on a sermon about forgiveness.

Hey if any of you want to play College Fantasy Football for fun I have started a public league called "Holy Ghost Revival". Please look it up and join. It will be a fun time.

Blessings to all!

"Honor and majesty are before Him: strength and beauty are in His sanctuary."
Psalm 96:6

Take time to be quiet and think about the good things God has done for you. Look at both the
good times and the bad in proper perspective. We are loved by a God of all creation, the Master
of all eternity. He has made us important by His love for us. Think of how wonderful this love
is. We have no way to comprehend this kind of love and attention. It is well that we take time
to contemplate all these things. All honor and glory belongs to the Lord, who loves us so much.
By entering into His presence, we come to know just how very lucky we are.

Who am I, Lord, that You take notice of me? I cannot believe that You love me the way You do.
Though I don't understand, I do accept Your gracious love, and I am thankful from the depths
of my soul. Amen.

August 1, 2012 3:42 pm

So good to see you all again!  You have been in my prayers daily.  I got caught up reading and it sounds like AB4C and Gary are doing well and that Gators is making some progress in a very sad and tough situation, but God will make a way when there seems to be no way!  WT, how is Job doing?  You seem great!

Things here have been a challenge.  The whole community has been shaken by the vehicle homicide of Gabby only to learn our police let the guy go and he had another accident with DUI the next day in NJ by hitting a pole!  He's finally in jail where he can get help and the world is safer to find out he is not driving.  I looked up his 10 year criminal history and I'm amazed he's still out running around.  BTW, if you see reports of "Fireman Phil" or references to "Remembrance Park," that's our criminal who was never a firefighter but has a scam running to raise money for a park that doesn't exist in honor of 9/11.  He's even been on CBS news!  (Great investigative reporting there!)  So put the word out that this is just a scam.

Mom was doing well for about a month or so and then both legs broke out in red blisters.  I've been making doctor appointments for her and washing and moisturizing her legs to keep anything from turning into a wound.  We have two more doctor appointments in August and a skin cancer surgery on the other side of her face at the end of the month.

My fibromyalgia has been acting up more so than usual this summer, but stretching in hot showers keeps my muscles working as best as possible.  I think it has been all the stress on top of daily grind kinda things (like thinking I could "help" push a riding mower out of a ditch in the rain! lol).  One of my fav verses has always been "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me."  True, but I don't think that means we are supposed to "do" everything that crosses our paths--there are those verses about discernment and wisdom too!

Go Team USA!!!  (For those of you who knew him, Phantom made my avatar for the last Olympics.  I miss him so much, but he's home with the Lord so at some point we will all be!)

Be God's!

Sissy,

Job has started a new job, his employer has been exceptionally supportive of what has occured in his life, he recently got into a new relationship that is going well and I am hearing a lot of positives coming from him.  I think the worst is over and alot of it has to do with prayer including those from this site so thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I am sorry I didn't update you.

You and Mom are in all our prayers and I hope you get a rest soon!
