Prayers

July 17, 2012 2:42 pm

Not for nuthin', but who exactly are you praying TO?God?  It was God's will that the accident happened in the first place, remember?

I know this has been deleted, but I want to respond anyway.  We do pray to an Almighty God who is Sovereign.  All things do happen according to His will and Plan, however, evil is not invented by God, but a certain amount of adversity is allowed.  We dont know the ultimate outcomes of individual incidents.  To sit in judgment of God based on our limited perspective of one event is foolish.  The Permissive will of God turns lemons into lemonade for us ultimately.  Sometimes in this world, but if not, certainly the next.  We don't attempt to change God's will by prayer, but understand and get in line with His will so we can receive the blessings of wisdom and growth in grace.  The adversity my son is going through will make him stronger and he will learn from it.  I don't know what the future holds in total, but I know Who holds the future.

God is good all of the time and that he can restore. I have been through many tragedies and heartaches in my life and without the Lord being there to hold me through those times I do not know where I would have ended up.

Like a true christian, you just contradicted yourself.  If god was good all of the time, you never would have had those tragedies and heartaches.

If you kept your child in his/her crib their entire life they would not be exposed to the dangers of the world, which is 'good', right?  This is a non-sequitor, however, since you just posted this to be a hateful d-bag anyway

You base that on my posting history of Christian-Bashing?

Oh wait, you don't.  Because there is no history.  Thanks for proving the point though.  Well done!

I'm offended that I can't pronounce your name...

But while I'm here, I should apologize to "keepitreal," as we had a very nice conversation going about health care, and I left for a few days and completely forgot about it.  Sorry, didn't mean to leave you hanging like that, and I thoroughly enjoyed our discussion.

Praying PADAK! I am so proud of you from a fellow alcoholic who is 6 years alcohol free! The Holy Spirit is better than any spirit man can sell us!
Amen, Gary.

Prayers for all of the afflicted souls in this thread. God is good all the time. Sometimes we need pain and affliction in our lives to make us better people and better Christians. Sometimes God needs to give us a good whack on the behind to get our attention. We can always remember:

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
- Romans 8:28

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
- 2 Peter 3:9

God's call to repentance goes to ALL people, everywhere. His patience is enduring because He loves each and every one of you so much that He would not even spare His own son for you.

Glory to God forever and ever, Amen!
