Iron Sheik, AB4C, and Gary, so good to see you all as well.  Iron, what you say about the family is so true.  I pray more people would know what a strong family and community could do for people's lives.  God will lead, but some hearts are hard.  I long for the day when we will all be home with our Lord!

Come, Lord Jesus!

Prayers

July 14, 2012 12:59 pm

Hi guys, got an emergency prayer request.  We just had an horrific accident on the road in front of our house.  A jogger was struck by a car and we think the girl who was jogging is dead.  We didn't see the ambulance come back and the EMTs have left so I don't know if the car that hit her stopped or if anyone in the car was injured and treated on the scene.  The girl is in the street covered completely with a sheet and i think the coronor just came.  Please pray for the family of this girl and for the people in the car.  Sorry I don't have names or details yet, but this one does not look good.  May our Lord have mercy on all of them.

Prayers

July 14, 2012 11:00 pm

Super Gnat, thank you for the prayers.  It's been a horrid day.  The young woman was jogging with her back to the traffic.  The driver had been texting and swerving all over the road for miles so a woman stayed behind him just in case.  At the point of the accident, another woman was driving in the lane coming toward them.  At a high speed, the man smashed into the young woman and she was killed on impact. A woman in a nearby house also saw the accident.  The man driving tried to go around the girl's body to get away, but the two woman blocked him in.  The emergency vehicles arrived and immediately put up blankets so no one could see the accident scene and covered the girl's body with a sheet.  Because it had become a crime scene, they couldn't move her.  The man hit her so hard that the bumper tore off his car.  I don't know how they made an identification of the young woman but it took hours, and then they called the parents and brother and sister to come to the scene of the accident to identify the body.  The screams of anguish from this poor family were heartbreaking.  The man tried to lie and say she ran into the road, but the three women who witnessed it all stayed to be sure they told the truth and the tire tracks supported their story.  It was five hours from the time of the accident to the time where they could take her body away and escort her family to wherever the coroner needed them.  I agree that the man driving needs prayer, but I'm also very angry right now.  He was a tourist from out of state (we are in the Pocono mountains and people come up here from the city and drive like our roads are the Indy 500).  It was definitely vehicular homicide--if he had been watching the road and staying in his lane, the accident never would have happened.  I know he has a family too, and they will all need prayer but after seeing the condition of the young woman and hearing the reactions of her family, I don't think anyone in the neighborhood will sleep tonight.  There are several recent high school grads who are training for a race so we are still waiting to find out if we knew her; my brother did.  Maybe if the man had not lied about how it happened, maybe, maybe, maybe . . . God sees the truth and will have his justice and his mercy in the right time.  No horror movie could prepare you for the sight of this poor child or the grief of her family or the shock of the witnesses.  Just overwhelming.  Can't cry hard enough to get this out of my mind tonight.

Please everyone, pray over this whole situation and everyone involved.    God have mercy on everyone.

Thank you, WT, knew you'd be there.  Much to be sorted out in horrific tragedy.  Prayers are appreciated and much  needed.  So many in need of God's mercy and comfort tonight.  Thank you for being such a wonderful brother is the Lord.  Don't know how I'd get this far without the help of others like you and my other brothers in the Lord.  Hoope to get more details tomorrow and some sleep tonight.

Much love in Christ's name,
Sis

Sissy,

That is extreme;y tragic.  I'm so sorry it happened, very senseless.  Definitely praying for everyone involved (including you, Sis) that God's perfect grace & mercy overtakes the situation.

I mentioned before, I haven't been posting here much... please remember you're all in my prayers, and your loved ones.  Never hesitate to send a PM if you need anything.

I thank y'all from the bottom of my heart for letting the Lord use you in keeping this thread going.  It's not by accident that it's stayed active for so long.  Praise the Lord for that!

"Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before Thy face."
Psalm 89:14

God cares very deeply about how we choose to live our lives, and as far as hell goes, only people who
choose to go there make it. God has given us free will. He will not force any of us to spend
eternity with Him if we don't want to. If we decide, however, that we do want to spend our eternity
in heaven, then it is our responsibility to prepare ourselves--body, mind, and spirit. Our earthly
existence becomes boot camp for the Kingdom. We train for the world which is to come. God is just
and merciful, but He will indeed judge. It is the innocent who will stand beside Him.

Lord, let me not tempt Your mercy, but do everything in my power to act as I think You want me to
act. Train me to be a Kingdom person, worthy to enter Your heaven when I am ready. I pray this in
Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayers

July 16, 2012 11:03 pm

I must thank my brothers and sisters in Christ who have prayed over those involved in the fatal accident that occurred just down from our house on Saturday.  I now have the names and accident report:  victim, Gabrielle Reuveni, 20, valadictorian of her high school class, championship track and field runner, and a candidate in the Miss New Jersey pagent; mother, Jacqueline, father, Michael, brother (16) Zachary, sister (18) Jessica; perpetrator, Philip Cise.  Philip had been arrested twice the week before the accident--once when he demanded free food from a MacDonald's drive thru and when they said no, he took an axe to the first car in the drive thru line, but was arrested and released; five days later he stole a truck, the one used to hit Gabby and kill her.  If he had been kept in custody after two arrests in one week, perhaps Gabby would be alive.  God is on the throne, but honestly I do not understand this (which is why we trust Him even when we don't understand).

I will also be pursuing this with our local legislators.  There must be some kind of law that prevents this from ever happening to another family's daughter.  Pray that we get justice for Gabby and whatever changes in the law that are needed to protect people when people have multiple arrests and yet are still let go.

The whole neighborhood is still numb, in shock, and in tears.  May God have mercy on everyone; He WILL have justice in His time.

Be God's (even when it's hard)

Prayers

July 17, 2012 11:06 am

I have an urgent, heartbreaking request.  Vacation with family is often such a sweet and sour thing.  My son and his wife had been doing so well (we thought) in San Diego.  They have a beautiful new home and a nearly two year old precious baby son.  They have been keeping some things from us, though.  My daughter- in- law's mother lives with them, helps them with expenses, daycare, cooking, and cleaning.  My wife and I get along great with her.  The problem is my daughter- in- law and my son's "best friend".  My son's wife miscarried a while back with their second child, and I know now that this has cause her some emotional issues, and intimacy issues.  My son's "friend" and his wife have been inseparable with my son and his wife for the last few years.  He works with my daughter in law.  Lately, he has been "consoling" her- often when Bryan isn't around.

I don't want to go into sordid details, but you can see where this is leading.  My son's mother in law confronted them about it, and when he got defensive, she punched him out.  Now, all four of them are at odds with my daughter- in- law's mother.  My mother, my wife, and I all visited this week and saw exactly what she was upset about.  This guy is alienating my daughter- in- law's affections while pretending to be a friend, and probably worse.  It rips my heart out, because my son is such a loving, kind guy, he is in denial.  He believes every deceitful lie he is being fed.  His mother in law is defending him against her own daughter and this snake in the grass, but he doesn't seem to want to accept that he has a huge problem.

Bryan was raised in the church, his wife is Catholic, and they had joined the Catholic Church.  When the mother- in- law mentioned the situation to the priest, who knows them well, he was incensed.  He wants to counsel them, but Bryan is in denial.

You can imagine that I have been wrestling with my own anger, and trying hard not to "solve" their problem in a forceful, direct manner (my wife kept some details from me until we were nearly home in Colorado).  I would probably get angry and make things worse.

Bryan, Laura, and baby Nicholas need your prayers.  I and my wife need wisdom to know how to "save" our kids.  This guy- Oscar- I have refrained from calling him names like maggot- needs to be gone from their lives.  Only Christ and His Spirit can straighten out this mess.  The Devil is sure working hard to destroy families, particularly if they act as if they are drawing near to God.  There seem to be no shortage of evil, malevolent people out there waiting to devour and destroy.

I love my kids more than my own life, and pray that they live godly lives.  This just breaks my heart.  Thank you for your prayers and intercession.
