As usual, I have been away for awhile, sorry to hear the news on Phantom, will look forward to the day we meet face to face in heaven. God Bless all of you here, this thread seems to have picked up new life recently, a very good thing. Thanks for all of your prayers during our time of trials recently.
Armyman and HogfaninTexas keep on enjoying the BSU threads.
Jack, Tony, and jjoey, glad to see you, along with everyone else! I go to Bill Whyte's funeral tomorrow and then I plan to nap for a week. Actually can't do that because I have to take Mom to the cardiovascular specialist Monday for a re-evaluation. (What I really need is the Thunder to sweep the Heat and I'll get some rest! lol)
Keeping you all in my prayers. jjoey, glad you are getting settled back at home; hope it is done up the way you want it and you can get back to normal.
Hogfan and WT, good to see you, as always! Tony, hope you get some sleep soooooooon!!!!!!
Everyone I have been dealing with in the last week (except Danny's parents) are believers so they grieve with the hope our Lord has given us. Please pray for those who do not believe. There will be a lot of guilt and anger felt after a suicide normally and they have to place to turn unless we can lift them to the Lord.
Pray for our country, our world, its leaders, our churches and their leaders, and that we would all become the witnesses that redeem the time for the days are indeed evil. All praise to Him and thankfulness for what He has done through His grace in Jesus, His Son. Pray for our military, first responders, and especially for Josie Terry, Brian Terry's mother who still has no answers about her son.
Thanks to all of you for always being here. My brothers and sisters in Christ mean so much to me! (Anita says hello and she is recovering at home now from a successful surgery without the expected breathing complications, praise God!)

DITTO!
Tony, hope you get some sleep soooooooon!!!!!!
Better last two nights. Toke ambien and it worked, just praying for no after affects. Feeling a bit jittery/anxious but it may be another med that I am going to stop and see if it makes a difference. Panicky! I hope this can be the fix for now, so I can get re-focused.

PTL That Anita is OK. Lifting up the other needs to prayer. thanks for all you do, Sis.
Jack, good to see you! I pray you have a blessed weekend, too! Tony, so glad that there are signs of improvement in your sleep. Rest and restorative sleep is so important to our mind, body, and spirit that I pray you find a complete answer as God knows your needs and promises rest to those who have come to Him.
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21
What exactly are these treasures? Do we pack a suitcase of our favorite clothing and send it on ahead of us? Do we ship our favorite computers, cell phones, TVs, gadgets to heaven for safe keeping? Of course not!
It has been throughout this last week for me with so many friends passing on to the arms of God that those treasures are more clear than ever. What treasures await us in heaven that we 'lay up' for ourselves? Every time you witness and influence a soul to come to the Lord, there is the treasure of knowing when we go home, there is a loved one to greet us. Every moment you lend an ear to someone in pain, give to someone in need, let your heart be the hands of God to touch someone in need on earth, you have helped draw a person closer to the kingdom. Our treasures in heaven that can never be taken away are those we love who have come to salvation by seeing God in a single act of kindness on our part that displayed His love for them. What better treasure could await us than those loved souls who pass on to the kingdom before we do?
Father, I pray today for all who do not know You that they would come to see You through us in this world. Let us be the light of the world, the salt of the earth, the guidance that leads them to Your word so that their paths may be lit as ours have been. Let us not hesitate to step into each moment You give us to be that touch, to say that word, to show that love that Your Son died so that the grace provided was available to all of us and for all of us to share with the world in need. Let us ever walk with You, stand firm in our faith, be living witnesses, and treasure the souls who have gone home before us, knowing Your grace will reunite us in Your time. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen
We have a person who sounds like he wants to become a Christian who has been having a hard time and has been on the wrong path.
I am showing him where this thread is and pray that he comes over and shares and asks whatever questions he wants. And hope he becomes our Brother in Christ.
Padak....welcome to the prayer thread we are glad to have you here! Just read your post and first I want to congratulate you on taking such a huge step you should be very proud of yourself. My advice right now is one remember as long as you have asked God for forgiveness then you ARE forgiven and you need not worry about the past just focus on the future. Two if you are struggling with forgiving yourself stop that's God's domain just follow his lead. Three the most important thing is prayer and making that daily connection with God trust me he knows who you are and your prayers are precious to him. Four the bible instructs us to pray about everything and worry about nothing give your burdens to him and let him take them away. Five find a congregation of believers you are comfortable with for worship and fellowship your Christian brothers and sisters will be your biggest support group the rest of your life. Remember that when it comes to being a Christian we are all constantly growing and learning spiritually so never think his person knows so much more than I do I can never catch up because none of us ever catch up we are all on the same path and learning through our Lord Jesus Christ and each other. If you are just starting to read the scriptures go to a Christian bookstore and get a study that speaks to YOU and use it to spend time in his word. So many people pick up the bible and start at Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 and desire to read beginning to end. Trust me that is an extremely hard way to do it so make it easy and fun you know the way it should be. There will be others that will come and answer your request as well check back on this thread later there are some awesome souls on this thread that I have come to love dearly and hope you will one day also.....Lord please be with our brother PADAK take away his burdens and replace them with your love, hope, joy, faith and grace. Watch over him and keep him safe from his past and give him the strength and resolve to be the man you desire him to be. Take him into your arms and carry him through the tough times and let him know he is never alone that you are always there as are we his brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord let him feel your love and ours and help him find a congregation of believers that will love him and help feed him the fruit of knowledge that he needs. Show him the plan you have for his life and give him the tools he needs to immerse himself in it. Lord we lift our brother PADAK up to you with his prayers, hopes and dreams and ask that take care of him as only you can. We love you Lord and thank you for the many blessing you bestow on us....Amen
