Prayers

April 28, 2012 5:21 pm

Armyman,

Hey brother, certainly praying for you with the new job, that it goes well and is a blessing.  I'm also praying that the Lord blesses your relationship with the person at your church, that not only are your differences reconciled, but also that develop a strong friendship from this.

Sissy,

Amen to us not grieving like those with no hope or future, and the fact that he is with our Lord!  Thank you for the sincere post.

Y'all have a wonderful weekend!

In Him,

JT

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise."
Psalm 51:17

God wants us to need Him. He made us to need help, not to try to do everything on our own. When times get tough, God wants us to open our hearts to Him, that He might be made real to us. God also wants us to turn to him in good and bad times, not just emergencies.  We were made to have a relationship with Him.  Call upon God from your brokenness, and He will be faithful to answer.  Speak to God daily in prayer and listen for God's answers in your life so that when you are broken, you are also assured His hand will re-work your heart to become all God has designed you to be.

When all else fails, I turn to You, Lord. I should not wait until situations get bad, but I do. Be with me to help me in the hardest of times, and stay with me in all times, that I might know You better and glorify Your name in all the earth. Amen.

Prayers

April 30, 2012 1:54 pm

I have been away- pretty busy.  It is a blessing to see so many new folks on here recently.  I believe it's God's blessing for the faithfulness of so many who persisted despite opposition from drive- bye distractions- and who kept the faith.  It is wonderful to see so many answered prayers and opportunities to witness being shared.

I will lift up your request WT.

I am a teacher and some time coach, so I can identify with kids who work hard and give their all- and it often doesn't seem right that they are denied the opportunity to do what they love, while we all know those who barely tap their ability and cruise, seemingly without effort.

Holy Father, we lift up our brother's daughter in her struggle to make the team.  Give her added strength and energy to be able to compete to the best of her ability.  May she fight the good fight, knowing she serves the Lord Christ, not just men.  May the coaches see the need to have a team player who puts team first on the roster- not just a roster of "stars".  Show her Your plans for her and how she can play a role on the team.  Bless her and her efforts, I ask in Jesus' Name, Amen.

April 30, 2012 2:00 pm

"The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love."
Psalm 145:8

Prayer is natural and almost spontaneous when compassion grows in the heart.  Prayer belongs to the compassionate believer.

Dear God, I want my prayers to flow from a heart that is like Yours - please give me compassion for others so my life shares Your love. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Please remember the National Day of Prayer is this Thursday, May 3. If your church is having an event, try to take part; if you can't join a group for prayer, try to commit 15 minutes of your day to prayer for our nation, for our world, for our leaders, for specific people in need, for the persecuted church, for your church and its leaders, and for yourself and your family.  Let's pray for a revival in America and in the world!

Be God's!
Sis

WT and Greg and all the brothers and sisters here, so great to see you!

Lord, we lift WT's daughter to You as we recall Your promise in the Psalms that if we delight ourselves in You, You will give us the desires of our heart.  We know that You work all things together for good for those who love You so we ask that You touch this young lady and give her the strength and wisdom and endurance to achieve what has been set before her.  We know the witness that athletes can provide for Your glory.  Please grant this young woman the dream she has worked for and let her see it as the open door for Your work and Your glory.  Open the eyes and hearts of the coaches to see her achievements and preparation and grant this prayer for Your honor in the feats of Your children.  In Jesus' name we pray, Amen

Praises:  Dad did great it wasn't as big a deal as my mom made out to be but that is her right.  My daughter did well at her clinic again yesterday and said some of the coaches were talking about her so that is encouraging.  Thanks to everyone for their prayers.

Lord we lift all the requests on this thread up to you if they be spoken or naught and we pray for those that visit this thread but never make there presence known.  Let all know that we are thinking and praying for them and that there is always plenty of christian love to spread around.  Watch over us and guide is as we attempt to live our lives according to your plan and us make a positive impact on the lives of others.  Thank you for all that you do and all the blessing that have bestowed upon us even though we are unworthy servants but what a testiment to your wonderous love for us that you do so anyway.

Amen

Prayers

May 4, 2012 9:25 am

Praise:  My daughter completed her basketball clinic yesterday and the whole week went very well for her in fact on the last day the coach had her do lay ups in front of the others because she liked her form and wanted the others to see it as a good example.  That is a great sign for tryouts in the fall so she is super excited and determined to work hard all summer.  The great thing about this is that she is learning such great life lessons 1.  Never quit and 2.  Hard work and dedication pay off.  As a parent that is all you can really ask for and is the most important part.  I want to thank God for giving her the opportunity, the abilities and for great friends that care enough to be thinking and praying for her.

Prayer:  Lord lift up all the prayer request on this thread and let our praises reach you and glorify you because you are so deserving of all that we can give and more.  Watch over us and guide us as we attempt to live our lives according to your plan.  Thank you so much for all that you do for us, walking with us each and every step that we take and forgive us when we stray from your path.  Lord I want to lift the following up to you:

All that post on this thread hear their voices and answer their prayes.
Those that visit the thread but do not feel the need to post watch over them and bring blessing to them.
For those that do not believe but visit us here let them feel your presence so that they may come to know you.
Let ALL know that you are the way the light and our salvation.

Heavenly father we love you and thank you so much for your love that is returned and immeasurable.

Amen

May 4, 2012 4:29 pm

WT, Amen to your prayer and congrats to your daughter!  We will continue to pray for her and for her wonderful parents! Laughing

Welcome to you, FBisnotmygod!  God's richest blessings to you as well!

I had both blessings and sadness on our National Day of Prayer, although God's hand showed through it all.  I watched the Congressional hearing on the safety of Chen Guangcheng, the blind Christian Chinese human rights activist who protests China's one-child and forced abortion policy.  He was imprisoned and beaten for several years and had been under house arrest when he escaped with the help of some friends and made it to the U.S. Embassy.  The Chinese govt threatened to beat his wife to death unless he left the U.S. Embassy (she was tied to a chair and beaten for two days before being released to go to the Embassy to convey the threat to Chen's family).  Chen was waiting for Hillary Clinton and Tim Geithner to arrive to ask them for help.  Instead, the people at the U.S. Embassy took him and his wife to a hospital with the Chinese promise that Chen would be fine (we who have followed the plight of Attorney Gao know the worth of a Chinese govt promise).  He was abandoned there with guards in his room and no one was allowed to speak to him.  During the hearing in Congress with only two Republicans attending a panel of Chinese human rights workers to testify, the Chairman, Rep. Chris Smith, got a phone call from Chen in his hospital room!  I cried at hearing his voice, knowing he was guarded but still insistent on speaking to an American.  Supposedly you will hear on the news today that Chen and his wife and children will be allowed to come to America so Chen can go to law school in NY.  What you won't hear is that his mother, brother, nephew, and friend that helped him get to the Embassy has 'disappeared.'  This morning, Chen's lawyer was beaten so badly that he is now deaf.  Please I beg you to keep the persecuted church and Chen and his family and friends in prayer.  We know his is not the only case, but his is currently the one in international attention.  We know what befalls those around Chen.  And more than ever, what I saw and heard at the Congressional hearing showed me the need to pray for America.  Seriously, only TWO GOP representatives could attend this hearing?  Where were the Democrats?  Where were the rest of the committee members?  And what is wrong with our foreign policy that we handed Chen back over to the Chinese govt (nevermind, I know the answers).  The ability to do busines with another country outranks the human rights issue, sadly.  God bless Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) for intervening in this and getting Chen his phone call!  And God, please forgive us all because we have failed to show your love and give your glory to the point where America is becoming a dark place itself.  God, convict us and draw us back to You with the same devotion that Your martyrs in other countries are willing to display even in the face of torture and persecution.  Protect them, Lord, and make us worthy servants as well, for the honor of Your Holy name, Amen!

Be God's!

"And I said, 'Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest.' "
Psalm 55:6

There are many breathtaking experiences in this life that God has given to us. He has reserved some special things for each of us. These experiences help us touch the wonder of God. They involve us in His mystery, and they remind us of just how great He is. Embrace life fully. Try new things. The Lord is offering you new excitement and opportunity every day of your life.

Grant me wings to soar, Father. Set me upon high places and show me the wonders of Your love. Open my heart to new things, and help me grow. Amen.
