Kobe still suffering symptoms from Wade foul

By Matt Moore

Lakers' team reporter Mike Trudell is reporting that Kobe Bryant is still suffering from symptoms of his nasal fracture and concussion sustained Sunday after a hard foul from Dwyane Wade, and is being referred for an MRI. From Lakers.com:
Kobe Bryant went to see ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. John Rehm on Tuesday after suffering a broken nose at Sunday’s All-Star game, and because Bryant is experiencing further symptoms, Dr. Rehm recommended an MRI and that Bryant see a neurologist.

Bryant, who did not practice with the team on Tuesday, is expected to see the neurologist and undergo the exam this afternoon; the Lakers will provide an update as soon as one becomes available.

With the NBA's new concussion policy stipulating that a player must pass a series of neurologic tests before being cleared for play, Bryant's availability for Wednesday's game against Minnesota in L.A. continues to be in doubt.

Wade told reporters Tuesday he "sent a message" of apology to Bryant during the All-Star Game, whatever that means. The Lakers face the Heat at Staples Center on Sunday. Bryant had told reporters he planned to practice Tuesday but obviously did not, and given the nature of the injury, it's likely that the team will be exceedingly cautious with regards to the injury.

I love how Bynum was appalled by the foul. Can someone tell that idiot that after his foul in the playoffs he has lost the ability to be appaled at other fouls.

What a dirty play, although I can't say I'm surprised, then again with Kobe, it's probably Karma.

Still suffering effects?...I guess so. Too bad DW felt it necessary to injure KB in game for the fans w/ a pointless strike to the face. And a concussion to go w/ the nasal fracture, which is a fracture to the skull!...nice work. Maybe someone can come down on Dwayne's injured foot and tweet him an 'I'm sorry' to even things up going into the stretch run. No matter what Kobe says, this will be an issue til it heals...most guys w/ this injury require a face formed plexi mask to protect to nose, nasal passages and fracture...a hard foul is an understatement. What a punk...

If the Doctors look hard enough they will find something "broken" in  your nose.   He'll play.

I hope he doesn't get any unnecessary procedures, like that MRI.  Save it for some sick kids.

Lakers fans complaining about hard fouls.  I ran out of fingers to count on for the amount of dirty hard fouls committed by Bynum and Kobe over the years.  Don't think the Heat have to worry about the Lakers, who boast McRoberts and Troy Murphy as key solid players.

How can you be sooooo stupid to call one of the toughest guys in sports an egg shell. This guy has playe through almost everything but a broken neck. A concusion is nothing to play with. Football players play with helmets and the suffer them, what make you think a basketball player can't.
