LeBron James reportedly denies that he or his camp have made overtures to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. (ESPN)

On Thusday, Miami Heat All-Star forward LeBron James opened up a pandora's box for rumors, acknowledging that he would consider returning to play in Cleveland for the Cavaliers at some point in his career.

"I don't know. I think it would be great," James said, according to the Associated Press. "It would be fun to play in front of these fans again. I had a lot fun times in my seven years here. You can't predict the future and hopefully I continue to stay healthy. I'm here as a Miami Heat player, and I'm happy where I am now, but I don't rule that out in no sense."

On Friday, Yahoo! Sports reported that it wasn't just an idle thought, that James had actually reached out through backchannels to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert about a potential return.
This was no accident, no misspeaking, nothing out of context. Before mentioning Thursday his openness to playing in Cleveland again, James months ago had an emissary or two carry that message to the Cavaliers’ front office, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. His camp wanted the message delivered to owner Dan Gilbert, sources said, but so far, the response has been silence.

“He has started to lay the groundwork, and he’s waiting to see what Dan Gilbert’s reaction to it is,” one league source with direct knowledge told Yahoo! Sports.

The Heat, of course, were in Cleveland to face the Cavaliers on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena, a game they won easily, 111-87. James finished with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 asssists, 1 steal and 1 block on 11-for-19 shooting in 30 minutes.

After the game, James denied that that he and his camp had reached out to Gilbert.

"It's not true, it's not true at all," James said, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

When James announced he was headed to Miami during a nationally-televised special called "The Decision," Gilbert publicly accused James of disloyalty and betrayal, guaranteeing that the Cavaliers would win an NBA title before the Heat.

On Thursday, James said that was all water under the bridge and admitted that he didn't handle his departure in the proper manner.

"I don't hold grudges," he said, according to ESPN.com. "I hold them a little bit but I don't hold them that long. He said what he said out of anger. He probably would want to take that back, but I made a mistake, too. There's some things I'd want to take back as well. You learn from your mistakes and move on."

The Plain-Dealer has reported that Gilbert will not respond to James' comment for fear of receiving a fine from the NBA league office.

James' current contract runs through the 2015-2016 season. He has an early termination option for 2014-2015 and a player option for the final year of the deal, according to StoryTellersContracts.com. He will be 31 years old when the entirety of the deal is completed.

James, 27, spent his first seven NBA season with the Cavaliers. He is averaging 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.7 steals in 36.9 minutes per game this season, and he's a leading NBA MVP candidate.

What's that say about Derrick Rose? He's 0-2 in the playoffs vs LeBron, losing both series 4-1. So LeBron is 8-2 in playoff games vs Derrick Rose........not bad for a guy who only plays 3 quarters. At what point are people going to start calling Rose a choke artist..........since, you know........he gets spanked out of the playoffs with relative ease by a dubbed choke artist?
By the end of the year, especially if Lin's Knicks knock him off. Apparently there is only room for one "good" team/player a year, and everyone else "sucks." Imagine if people had to apply this same mentality to their own careers and lives?

Get the #$%$ outta here Joeboob...actually do some research and learn that this "Biggest jerk in sports" is rebuilding communities in Ohio, Boys & Girls clubs in Akron, in fact he adopted an entire 3rd grade class (last year) and will follow them thru until high school graduation...he provided these kids with school supplies, books, and even computers...also tutoring if they need it. He does this because he ALWAYS says that kids should go to college after high school...I really do not see how you would honestly and logically consider him the Biggest Jerk in sports...when GIVEN a Sports Illustrated cover and $90MILLION DOLLARS by NIKE at age 17...(yes 17). You have NEVER heard about Lebron having a DUI, Stabbing someone, shooting someone or himself accidentally (like Dick Cheney and Plaxico lol), raping someone (Ben R. and Kobe), sex scandals (Tiger), Steroids (too many to name, bonds, mcguire, that fine track girl marion jones), crashing his SUV, Selling drugs, acting drunk in public (Everyone), abusing kids, being a bad father...I could go ON, and ON, and ON.....You have heard NONE of that from LeBron...shyt give ya #$%$ $90million at 17, i bet you wouldve been all over the national news for doing somethin stupid AT LEAST ONCE in 8 years...LoL. SEriously tho, i cant wait until you get judged, you know in the end ;-) your so quick to judge Lebron. :-)

I enjoy this notion that Lebron changed teams so that he could have some other star win the title for him, unlike Jordan, Bird, Magic.  Those three players had stars on their teams also and couldn't have won multiple titles without them.  I will say I don't think that Jordan, Bird, or Magic could have led their team to 60+ victories in a season with the crappy Cleveland Cavaliers teams that Lebron was on.
We don't have to like Lebron's personality, or his "decision", or his bold predictions.  But we have to acknowledge that he is a flipping good player, one of the best in the NBA.
His awkwardness and strange way of handling this news piece about returning to Cleveland is merely an attempt to assuage the Cleveland fans and make him a little less hated in his hometown.  There's more of a chance of the Pope joining Mormonism than Lebron rejoining the Cavaliers anytime in the future.

What does Derrick Rose have to do with your hero being 0-2 in the Finals?

Awwwww. Did you create an account just to make that ground breaking post?

Well, I was replying to a Bulls fan, since lately they seem to be the first ones to flock to the Heat board and rip the Heat and LeBron. The same Heat that barely broke a sweat knocking them out of the playoffs, and the same "LeChoke / quitter" that has made easy work out of the Bulls and Derrick Rose the past two seasons. If Derrick Rose could get by LeBron, he'd be 0-2 in the Finals as well............but as it stands, Derrick Rose isn't even good enough to be 0-2 in the Finals.
