Irving out at least two more games

By Matt Moore

Cavaliers coach Byron Scott told reporters Friday that Kyrie Irving would miss both Friday and Saturday night's games for the Cavs while recovering from a concussion he suffered Tuesday night against Miami.

Scott did not say when Irving would retur, only that he would not play this weekend. The NBA has instituted new policies regarding concussions in an effort to be more aware of the dangers involved. Reserve point guard Ramon Sessions will once again start in his place. The Cavaliers signed former Nets guard Ben Uzoh from the NBA D-League to provide depth.

I say right on mediasux and PD. Let Byron Scott continue to showcase Ramon Sessions and not rush Kyrie back until they are absolutely certain he's ready to come back and get down on the NBA stage. The Cavs are not going to miss him for an extended period as Sessions will put on a good show and increase his worth on the market. A first rounder is right around the corner and who know what the gunning Antawn Jamieson can bring to the mix. Hmmmmmm, maybe another 1st rounder? This team is going places in the forseeable future with Irving at the helm and some of the current young pups and whatever studs or near-studs we can get for the current 2012 picks and the ones the Cavs will obtain for Sessions and/or Jamieson. DSo Ramon I say to you: "Get Busy Brother!"

Agree with you PD.  I think Sessions is a good kid and a more-than-capable PG, but he is a tradeable asset with #2 running the point for the next 4 years, at least.  Sessions deserves the shot to run his own team, and getting that additional 1st Rounder would be huge.

I know it's a Big IF...but let's dream a minute...IF we deal Sessions for a 1st Rounder, IF the Kings make the playoffs (we get their 1st Rounder for JJ Hickson but it is Lottery Protected), that would mean 4 First Round picks (along with ours and The Heat for Da Chosen One).  4 First Rounders would be unprecedented.  However, if IFS and BUTS were candy and nuts, every day would be Christmas.

Irving out at least two more games

This is a bummer for Kyrie and the Cavaliers but it sounds like Irving will be fine sooner rather than lately.  Good thing this fluke injury wasn't more severe but the word in Cleveland is he seems fine and should be back next week.  The good news for the Cavs is Ramon Sessions has the chance to step up and make get more teams interested in trading for him.  I hope the Cavs can get the Lakers or someone else to give up a 1st round pick for him.
