Oh, thank goodness. It had been almost 24 hours without a prospective landing place for Dwight Howard popping up. I was starting to feel alone and sad.

Thankfully, the Chicago Tribune spoke with Howard this week on the question all Bulls fans want to know. Does he really not want to play with Derrick Rose? The Magic's big man says as long as the Big Guy upstairs is down with it, he'd absolutely play next to the MVP.

"If I could play with Derrick right now and God wanted that to happen, it will happen," Howard told the newspaper. "It has nothing to do with me not wanting to play with Derrick Rose. I love him. That's my brother."

via's "Dwight Howard: Orlando center Dwight Howard on long-shot trade to Chicago Bulls: If God wanted that to happen, it will happen."

Howard also denied any sort of marketing complication with Adidas would keep him from wanting to join the Bulls. Previous reports said Howard was possibly resisting the idea of playing in Chicago, whether due to complications with being "the man" next to Rose or the market when compared to New York or Los Angeles, or some other issue, like the weather. Howard could simply be playing the PR game to leave all of his options open. He's likely amiable to playing in Chicago, but still prefers the warm spotlight of L.A. or the fuzzy fur coats in Brooklyn.

But Howard would be wise to consider Chicago -- both for himself and the franchise he's likely dumping. A trade with the Bulls would be easiest to facilitate because they have quality veteran players to package in exchange for Howard, which the Magic are said to covet. With a full stock of draft picks, young players and sub-stars like Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, the Bulls could take on Howard's salary and one of the Magic's overpaid contracts. For Chicago, putting Howard next to Rose would be phenomenal -- and giving Tom Thibodeau the best defensive player in the league could create the best defense in league history, depending on whether Luol Deng were sent away in such a trade.

Bulls are better off without him simply because they play great TEAM ball right now. The Bulls revolve around a team. Howard would make it a 2 man show. Bulls don't need it. They are close enough already to getting over the hump. Beat the Heat!

Bulls do not even need Howard, why would they clear their depth chart for a one player who isn't very good in crunch time. Just hack him and he goes to the line to shoot bricks. Just double up on Rose and Howard never touches the ball. He's only great in the paint, beyond that he has very little uses. Noah plays better defense because he can actually cover mobile players like LeBron. It just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to give away solid role players for a one-trick pony.

Actually it makes sense.  He is trying to use Chicago, Boston and Dallas to bid up his trade value so that the Nets come up with the pieces needed to finalize the deal.   If he really wanted to go to Chicago and he should but probably doesn't, all he has to say to Orlando that he demands to be traded to Chicago and he is willing to sign a long term extension there.

Might as well as long as it's either Chicago, Miami, New York, Los Angeles or Boston. All other teams are farm clubs for the big 6 and completely unacceptable for a superstar of Howard's status.

This just in! Dwight Howard is open to playing in China!

Word has it that the Chinese are offering 30 mil a year plus ownership of his pick of cities, Shanghai or Fushun. Also included are a lifetime supply of fortune cookies with guarenteed lottery number winners.

Howard has already ordered Rosetta Stone. He was quoted as saying "再见 America".(goodbye) He hadn't learned "I'm going to whoever pays me the most" in Chinese yet.

More updates as they come in.

Love anyday over Howard.  A guy who busts his a** every game, and lets his performance do the talking instead of a big mouthed primadonna who wants the easy path to winning.  Go practice your free throws, Superman.

Howard is demonstrating that he has not grown up.  He suggests that he would play for the Knicks, Laker, and anyone who would pay him.  He even says he would stay with Orlando.  Until sports fans start ignoring him this foolishness will continue until some foolish owner lays out  a ton of money for a child who has never grown up.

Here's a plan----let all GMs let it be known that they are tired of Howards idocity and will not sign him.. Then maybe he will shut up and  play basketball for the Magic.
