Everything was proceeding normally until LeBron James decided to jump over somebody.
The Heat's All-Star forward jumped completely over Chicago Bulls guard John Lucas III to complete an alley-oop from Heat guard Dwyane Wade during Sunday's matchup between last year's Eastern Conference finalists. With the Heat leading 14-7, James used a back screen from Heat guard Mario Chalmers to run mostly free on the baseline. Lucas, a 5-foot-11 guard, switched in an attempt to defend James once the lob action developed. James simply hurdled him completely, catching the pass with one hand above the rim and somehow managing to finish the dunk cleanly. Upon re-entry to Earth, James turned around and barked at Lucas, letting him know exactly what had happened.
"It's a great pass by D-Wade," James said in a televised postgame interview. "Without the pass, I don't finish the shot. Give all the props to D-Wade. I just went to go get it."
"Give all the credit to D-Wade," James repeated in a postgame interview posted on ESPN.com. "He threw it, I can't let him down and not go get it. It was a great play out of the timeout, D-Wade threw it and I was able to finish it... We're not 'Lob City' but we're doing OK."
Simply ridiculous. Here's the video of LeBron James jumping over a defender to finish an alley-oop against the Chicago Bulls.

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oopOh and for all the people claiming Lucas ducked and it's not as amazing as Vinsanity's dunk on the 7' in the olympics, the 7' was ducking too. LeBron's was on an alley-oop for god's sake..

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oopSome of the comments here are straight up ignorant! I hate LeBron with everything I have but for him to do this is phenomenal, and anybody that cannot admit that this is pretty amazing is just jealous of LeBron! That was highlight, poster material, no ifs, ands or buts. Whether Lucas is 5'11" or whether he was ducking or not, it was amazing... |

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oopWow....Lebron James...you dunked on a 5'11" point guard that is 3rd amongst the Bulls guards on the depth chart....and your gonna talk smack?? Next time, try dunking it on Deng or Taj Gibson...and then talk shit.. Mr. 4th quarter choke artist...pick on someone the rest of the NBA actually knows to dunk on! Im so glad you didnt come to Chicago last year! The heat barely won...and the Bulls had 2 key guys out. Heat fans...we'll see you again in Chicago!

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oopGreat comments, guys. He "should have" jumped over him. The guy's "so short" at 5'11". Really...then why don't we see this play every night? Because there's only one LeBron, you chumps. I'm not even a Heat fan. The guy's a human highlight reel. Hate him all you want, he only gets better.

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oopLet's see, in NFL combines the vertial jump usually gets 42 inches (roughly 3 1/2 feet) and that's a good mark. Although Lebron James had a running start, is coming to close to jumping 71 inches (we'll say 60 inches for the sake of argument). I don't care who you are, what team you play for, this was a great highlight.

LeBron James jumps over Bulls guard for alley-oop Was LeBron supposed to hand pick who he dunks over? It was pretty amazing especially because it was an alley oop, if you cant admit that then you are just another jealous LBJ hater.
