Eric Gordon rejected Hornets extension offer?

The Hornets made a pretty big stink about getting back an ample amount of young talent and assets when they dealt Chris Paul. The prize piece was guard Eric Gordon, a 23-year-old scorer that could be a franchise cornerstone.

Except the Hornets weren't able to lock him up long-term before the deadline passed for Gordon to sign an extension. According to an AP source, Gordon turned down a four-year extension offer from the Hornets, which means he'll be a restricted free agent this summer.

Financial terms of the Hornets' offer wasn't in the report, but clearly, it wasn't good enough for Gordon and his representatives.

According to another report, part of the hurdle Gordon had to jump was getting his extension through the commissioner's office. Gordon had said he wanted to re-sign with the Hornets, but obviously wanted to be well taken care of.

It's a very strange situation because the league and Hornets really pushed hard to get Gordon in return and now face the prospect of losing him in free agency this summer. Which was precisely the reason they dealt Chris Paul. Rather than watch a star walk for nothing, they wanted something to show for him. And because Gordon didn't get extended, he could do the exact same thing.

Without knowing the numbers, it's hard to really say who is more to blame in this situation. The Hornets, a struggling small market franchise, can't afford to part with precious cap flexibility and money over a player that's not quite star level. Gordon is a very good player but definitely not a no-brainer max player like Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook or Kevin Love. He's certainly a great building block piece and potentially has that caliber of talent, but it's yet to be seen. And I'm sure the Hornets' offer reflected that.

Gordon has only appeared in two games this season for the Hornets because of a bruised right knee and coach Monty Williams said Wednesday that Gordon will likely miss three more weeks with the injury.

Eric Gordon rejected Hornets extension offer?

Onve again the RETARDED blind LAKER HATER-  Mr. RicheyRiches (also a completely disgruntled and depressed Toronto Raptor fan hahahaha)  Has to make up some delusional case for how anything AntiiLakers is a positive thing.

The Trade with Lakers/Houston gave New Orleans:  Odom, Scola, Gragic, AND K, martin  to pair with Jack, Landry, Okafor, Ariza, and Bellinelli.

The Trade with the Clippers got New Orleans:  Kaman (lol), Eric Gordon (injury prone and DOESNT WANT TO PLAY THERE), and some picks.  PLease remember New Orleans has had MANY first round picks that obviously haven never turned into anything other than CP3 so its not like random picks will save a team!

If you think the latter trade was the better trade you have some severe flaws in your basketball acumen B*tchyB*tches!!!!

Raptors, lmao!

Eric Gordon rejected Hornets extension offer?

One Man is to blame for what's happening in the Big Easy "David Stern",  He's a worst Owner than he is Commis.  They need to sell the Team Yestarday!!!!!!!!!!  Stern should not be making decision's for the Hornet's.  This a team that no one saw making the playoffs last yr; lost to Lakers 4-2.  They have a good HC & GM; plus a good core of players(Ariza, Jack, Landry, Belinelli) & had(Willie Green(ATL), D west). & what did they get E Gordon? I like him to but, Kaman=$14milyr(WTF), & the SF from WF(he's done little)vs Luis, Kmart, Dragic & Odom.  Wow Stern rejected that trade for the clippers trade???  If you were to trade CP to Clips that one name should come Blake Griffin PERIOD....No BG no deal CP for GB...Kamam=$14yr, well they got a 1st rd pick from minn.  Bad Trade!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Hornets!!! Only Trade worst than that was the D Will trade to NJ & he's going bounce!

Eric Gordon rejected Hornets extension offer?

No it wasn't better than the Clips deal... Gimme a break homer. Eric Gordon is one of the best up and coming SGs in the league. He is a restricted free agent, he's not going anywhere. The Lakers deal got them older and slower. The Clippers needed young talent for the future, and that is what they got. They also have a pick too. Taekt eh homer goggles off, Stern did the absolute right thing, he maximized his investment. Blame the league for owning the team, bit of a conflict of interest, but they did act in the best interest of the franchise by accepting the Clips deal and vetoing the Lakers trade.

Eric Gordon rejected Hornets extension offer?

He is a restricted free agent , which means the hornets can match any offer or let him walk for the draft picks they would get from the team signing him
