Update (Saturday): CBS Fantasy News notes that Anthony is out for Saturday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and is hoping for a return for a Monday night game against the Orlando Magic.

Update (Friday)
: The New York Times reports that Anthony missed practice on Friday because of the sprained ankle injury suffered on Thursday night. He is listed as "doubtful" for a Saturday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Original post:

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has been dealing with various bumps and bruises, but it was a badly rolled ankle that knocked him out of a Thursday night game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

After spraining his left wrist earlier in the game and opting to play through it, Anthony rolled his right ankle while fighting for a loose ball with Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol. The injury occurred with 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter and Anthony hopped around in significant pain before being taken to the locker room. Memphis was leading New York at the time of the injury, 53-40. Anthony left the game with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists on 6-for-11 shooting in 20 minutes.

The Knicks confirmed that Anthony was done for the night with a right ankle sprain. The New York Times reported that an X-ray on the ankle conducted at the arena came back negative.

Here's video of New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony's ankle injury suffered against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Carmelo Anthony 'doubtful' after ankle sprain

I don't understand why all of you Knick haters waste your time posting negative comments or even bothering to read news about the Knicks.

I like him pretty good, actually.  4th leading scorer in the league?  Sorry, Melo's not the problem, as much as Denver fans want to think he is because he wanted to get out of there.

Good thing Melo doesn't have a sister like JR Smith; there would have been a brawl in the stands. Melo has a history of being down too long with minor injuries.  NY- how do you like him now?

Funny. I thought that Stat would be the first injured Knick.  I guess we will have to wait a few more weeks before Stat goes out with his injury.  Hope NY loves Stat and his max contract when (not if) he is hurt.

No offense to Carmelo, but that didn't look that bad. Making a whole scene out of it....dramaqueen. The next Paul Pierce everyone.

Game totally fell apart after he left the game, Amare completely disappears far too often. Anyone else think Bill Walker should be starting? Landry Fields just does not look like a starter to me, he looks like a good bench player.

Buck up Melo!! Your in NYC now!! You could get away with that chump stuff in Denver, But this is the BIG City you need to be on the court! if he misses more then 2-4 games he is SOFT!
