Report: Players likely to pass new CBA

It's not over yet. The confetti is still dropping the dancing is carrying on, but the NBA isn't back... yet. Not officially, at least. For that to happen, the new collective bargaining agreement must be voted on by both the players and owners and then made official.

Question is, is there really a chance that one of the two sides might not vote for the new CBA? As one veteran player texted Yahoo! Sports, "We (bleeping) caved," he said as he indicated he would vote no on approving a new deal.

However, don't panic. Because Yahoo! also reports that it's going to pass.

"There will be a significant number of players who will not vote to approve this deal, but there won't be a majority. The deal will pass."

The vote will likely take place either Saturday or Sunday and as mentioned, all indications are that it will pass with ease. If the way players reacted on Twitter is any indication, it seems they are all ready to play no matter what the new CBA says.

If for some reason it didn't, it would be absolute mayhem. All the hard work would be gone and the season would almost certainly be lost. But don't fear: That's not happening. Both sides have put their full faith and trust in their bargaining groups and you can be sure that the deal agreed to in principle is one that both sides are entirely comfortable will pass.

Y'know, just when I'm about to lose all faith in the education, intellect and stability of everybody who posts comments on this site, somebody goes and uses the word pugnacious. And you used it appropriately, with great timing and delivery. Loved every letter of it!

Yeah, I can now watch one last season of Dwight Howard with the Orlando Magic before he screws the team like Shaq did. Then I can quit watching the NBA for life.

If this actually happens and i stress the IF part since we have heard they were close to a deal like 20 times already only be to be let down everytime, it will be the best christmas gift i could get. Id love to be sitting at home with my family on christmas watching the lakers vs bulls, im a laker fan but with bynum suspended 5 games for destroying Barea and the lakers having no one to guard Rose "unless they get a fast defensive point guard in free agency" Chicago might win.

Memo to all whining, complaining NBA players: If you don't like the terms of the CBA, and you feel like the NBPA (bleeping) caved!  Then take you and your sniveling counterparts and go play basketball somewhere else.  There are now professional leagues all over the globe, you can play in a myriad of different countries and continents.  Prove your point and stand by your principles by playing in one of these other professional venues - or take you and the rest of your pugnacious partners and start your own league.  This will be a great opportunity for us to truly see how deep your moral convictions ultimately run - you don't have to play basketball in the NBA if you are being treated like a slave, are getting screwed, or don't want to associate with (bleeping) cavers!  Take your wares and go peddle them elsewhere...
