LeBron congratulates the Mavs... on his website

The sting of coming up short in a second NBA Finals definitely hurt LeBron James. Add in the fact that both times he's had to watch the other team celebrate on his home floor and you can understand the devastation he's feeling.

And following the crowning of the Mavericks, LeBron naturally spoke to the media, saying a lot. He wasn't arrogant or annoying -- at least not to me -- but he also wasn't very congratulatory to the Mavs. He never really acknowledged them for being a better team (Chris Bosh did, which was very good of him) and never really offered up much to the other side for winning.

Even today in his exit interviews, LeBron didn't really mention much about it. Not that he necessarily should because it's certainly not a requirement, but it's always a classy move to do such a thing. And with LeBron, any extra perceived classy move is a huge help.

So finally, he extended the olive branch to the Mavericks. But he did not do it in front of reporters. He did it on his website.

Naturally, you know LeBron is going to get hammered for this by someone. And yeah, it's kind of weird that this came some 36 hours since the Mavs received their trophy. But better late than never I say.

Of course it's pretty unlikely LeBron actually wrote that, but instead it probably came from some intern or PR dude. LeBron probably just glanced at it and said, "Yeah, that's cool" and they posted it. But his signature's there, so it's like he did it!

He didn't have to post the message though. He did and I think that's a solid move. He's probably trying to do a little damage control after his perceived "I'm better than you" quote after Game 6 and his shrinking in the fourth quarters of basically every game. I don't have a problem with it.

However, I can't believe he didn't congratulate DeShawn Stevenson by name. It just seems like those two like each other so much.

LeBron congratulates the Mavs... on his website

I have no idea why Lebron is apologizing to anyone, congratulating the winners after the fact is what competitors do, but if you talk to them immediately after a loss you are suppose to get flack.  No competitor likes to lose, especially at something that he/she thinks they are really good at.  If reporters and never been a competitor fans don't understand this then they have a lot of learn.

I love Chess if I lose a game and you talk to me immediately afterward, my opponent didn't win I lost because of something fundamental that I did not do, talk to me two days later and I will probably give credit to the other person for having for having a better plan of attack than mine.  Charles Barkley should suck it up and shutup, he has never won anything, let me say that again Charles Barkley has never won anything not even a card game, CB has so many contridictions in his life someone should take notice and talk trash about his inequities and lack of decorum and lack of vocabulary, lack of wardrobe, just lack of most things we take for granted and talk trash back to him.

No way should Lebron congratulate D. Stevenson or even S. Marion, all he should say to them is see you next year enjoy this one.  Lebron, Wade, and Bosh has nothing to hang there heads about they made it to the NBA finals and lost in six games while everybody else was at home watching them play.  This thing about you as a competitor shoud be humble is BS, I know of no one who enjoys losing except a loser.  Be pissed go home and work on your game and remember the lesson you learned but forget the details and tell them all see you next year.

Wow dude, spoken like a true new yorker.

I enjoyed reading how LBJ says the Miami fans are incredible.  Really?  To me, it seemed like the Dallas fans were incredible.  The Miami fans are (and I hate to say it) a lot like the crowd at the Staples Center.  Quiet and boring.  In the deciding game it was as if Dallas was playing a home game and not the Heat.

What a load of crap this "congratulations" is.  Lebron didn't write it, and he definitely doesn't mean a bit of it.  He's an arrogant punk who deserves every bad thing that's happening to him.  Screw you, Lebron.  I hope you win nothing, and I hope your mom continues to bang all of your teammates.

Nice comment. Hopefully Lebron believes it- particularly about a lot of work to do this summer. He needs to learn to post up among other things. Super athleticsm will only take you so far.

LeBron congratulates the Mavs... on his website

Did ya notice LeBron specially thanked his coaches and not Eric Spoelstra?  Can you imagine Kobe not thanking Phil?  Also, why not give a congrats to Sean Marion (another vet who guarded him so well)?

Anything LeBron puts out there will be criticized, but he deserves every bit of it...

What do you actually know about Lebron James to make a comment about his grammar?
