Two weeks ago, future Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal retired from the NBA after 19 seasons. What came next was a big question. Well, in the immediate future, it looks like he has to deal with some weird stuff.

According to TMZ.com, Shaq is in the middle of a robbery, sex tape and kidnapping situation.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Ladell Rowles -- a member of the Main Street Mafia Crip Gang in L.A. who is friends with Shaq -- along with 6 other members went on a search and destroy mission in L.A. on February 11, 2008.  They believed a man named Robert Ross had the sex tape and they tried getting it back with the help of a gun or two.

According to the police report, the seven gang members met up with Ross at a convenience store -- Pink Dot -- on the Sunset Strip.  The men allegedly surrounded Ross' Rolls Royce Phantom with guns drawn, jumped into Ross' car and ordered him to drive to Rowles' house in South Central L.A.

Once there, Rowles allegedly pistol whipped Ross and demanded that he turn over the sex tape.  Ross said he would get the tape and bring it back to them.  The seven men then allegedly took Ross' Rolex, diamond chain and earrings, along with $15,000 in cash -- then let Ross go.

The seven men have been arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping and other crimes. They are currently in the middle of a preliminary hearing and being held in jail.

We've learned LAPD detectives interviewed Shaq to determine what, if any, involvement he had in the alleged crimes.  When the case file went to the D.A. Shaq was not listed as a suspect.
As for the supposed sex tape, Ross claims Shaq brought women to Ross' home and had sex with them while he was married to ex-wife Shaunie. Reportedly, Ross told Shaq that a security camera had caught the action. However, Ross told police that the security footage automatically recycled and no longer exists.

TMZ contacted Shaq's representatives, but hasn't heard back yet.

Report: Alleged Shaq sex tape leads to kidnapping

I don't know, possibly the interest in blackmailing Shaq or selling the tape outright?  I'm not a Shaq fan by any stretch, in fact I lambasted him on the message boards after he announced his retirement, but I know there are multitudes of reasons why a nefarious element would want to procure a sex tape involving a celebrity.  Narrow-minded people are narrow-minded.

you must have missed the part about these dudes being his friends...if thats the case then they are not out to blackmale him. read the entire article and use your brain. pretty easy to see what the deal is. nothing narrow-minded about my comment. its going off what the presented facts are. you act like you are so intelligent but excluded the main reason for me making the comment i did. douch bags are douche bags.

Report: Alleged Shaq sex tape leads to kidnapping

jmartin34, before i did post I did read his and it doesn't matter if he loves the NBA or is a diehard fan or not.  What he said was uncalled for and having asked some of my hoops buddies and they agree it was not worth saying. Whiny little crybaby? What are you in third grade? Also I am not the only one(bizona) on here who thinks what warnertoholt posted was strange or what he was really trying to say.  So if your still around warnertoholt, let us know what you meant by your post and if it was not racist or uncalled for I will gladly apologize no problem!

Or, do us all a favor and show us where the article accuses Shaq of ANYTHING?
Have you ever heard of the phrase, "the silence was deafening" - by including Shaq and "friend" in the article and not mentioning blackmail anywhere, the article is implying that Shaq was behind this plan.  So while there is no specific line, "Shaq sent these gang bangers to get his tape back," it's 100% implied.  Apparently you're still reading Dr. Seus and can't comprehend or make inferences.

they were hoping to return it to him in exchange for the privilege of trailing around after a celebrity or a night on the town.
They are already classified as his friends - which means they don't need to kidnap someone at gunpoint to earn a night out with him on the town.

they weren't retrieving it for him, they were retrieving it to blackmail him.
I try and blackmail all my millionaire friends too - especially the one's like Shaq that are known to be stingy and selfish.... oh wait....

So you're assertation is that Shaq was just talking with his gang banger friends and said, "hey, apparently this guy has some security footage of me having sex but he told me they were deleted" and said gang bangers said to eachother, "hey, this guy is probably lying - let's risk a ton of time in prision and go kidnap him and hope that he still has it"??

Get real dude - the most likely scenario is that Shaq told them, told them he didn't believe it was deleted, and that it would be worthwhile for them to try and retrieve it.

What a joke.
Yes - you inability to use logic is a joke.

I assume when they say TMZ they mean ESPN
ESPN wishes they were as reputable a news source as TMZ.

which is what the article is accusing him of here.
CWergs, you might want to enroll in a Reading Comprehension course at your nearest Learning Annex!  Or, do us all a favor and show us where the article accuses Shaq of ANYTHING?

See, that accusation is your own.  You read it, made up your mind and posted the above, never even realizing the article made no such accusation.

Only problem is, he obviously ordered it.
Drives me nuts when people don't actually THINK before posting something like this.  He "obviously" had nothing to do with it - they weren't retrieving it for him, they were retrieving it to blackmail him.  He "obviously" knew nothing about it - they were hoping to return it to him in exchange for the privilege of trailing around after a celebrity or a night on the town.  He "obviously" wanted it recovered, but didn't actually order it.

You see how dumb that is?  There's nothing "obvious" about his involvement, particularly in light of the uselessness of the tape - if it existed.  What value is it to anyone at this point.  They can put it out on the internet?  Sell it like the Paris Hilton video?  Really?  Who'd buy that?

Shaq is obviously going to have a long court case in his near future.
There goes that "obviously" word again.

What a joke.

JMartin34,I posted I did take a look at his post.  Just because someone loves the NBA so much does not mean that they can make a stupid racist comment like he did.  It was uncalled for oh and by the way.  CRYBABY? What are you in third grade and still giggle at the word boobies?  Tell me if you will exactly what he meant by the post he wrote so as that I may be enlightened, please do!
