DeShawn's shirt: 'LeBron, How's my Dirk taste?'

DeShawn Stevenson wears a shirt that says, "Hey LeBron! How's my dirk taste?" Posted by Ben Golliver. stevenson-shirt-small

After poking and prodding Miami Heat forward LeBron James throughout the 2011 NBA Finals, Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson got in one final shot following Dallas' NBA title.

The Mavericks closed out the series on Sunday night with a 105-95 win in Game 6 before taking to South Beach club LIV to celebrate with the Larry O'Brien trophy.

On Monday, the Mavericks flew home to Dallas, where Stevenson was spotted wearing a Mavericks blue and white t-shirt with lettering that read: "Hey LeBron! How's my Dirk taste?"

That slogan is an obvious reference to a Shaquille O'Neal freestyle rap. O'Neal used the line, "Hey Kobe, tell me how my a** taste" to mock his former teammate with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant.

To add a play on teammate Dirk Nowitzki's name here is incredibly inspired work from Stevenson, who may well have created a legacy for himself as "The Guy Who Got Into LeBron's Head Completely" in these 2011 NBA Finals.

The most underrated part of this shirt is that it bears the sponsorship of HDNet, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's television station. It's almost like Cuban is personally endorsing the joke.

Wow, didn't think that many Heat fans would be able to crawl over to the computer to read about this.  I figured the duel handover from last night would be keeping you guys in dark quiet caves for a day or two.  I say two because 1) from the Mavs winning the title and 2) you and your team partying with the Mavs after they partied hard on your court.  James isn't a prince, a king, or anything else that the media aspires him to be.  This is what the media does & us as fans hate... however, this is the 1st time that someone didn't live up to the hype machine.. and in such a big way.  The media finds kids in high school and dubs them the next MJ.. its completely wrong.  Its disrespectful to a guy that won 6 titles and earned his greatness on the court.  Now the media is saying guys like Kobe, Carmello, James, and the like are the next MJ w/o having even walked in cap and gown to recieve their high school diploma.  Kobe at least lived up to the hype, he's close, he's one hell of a player.. and I'm someone that didn't respect his talent until his 5th ring.  Why?  Because the media turned me off to him.  I hate people that get the superstar treatment w/o having played to earn it.  James can't even be the next Scottie Pippen, how the hell can anyone think other wise?  I think the media helped create and then destroy James.  James is who he is... the media took his ball & pushed it to the top, thus making him bigger than he ever wanted to be or able to handle.  Then when he showed who he truly is, the media bashed him... and hey, I'm all for it.. but the media shouldn't be the ones doing it... the fans should.. and the fans should be bashing the media too.. since they helped create this monster.  If not for everyone proclaiming him King, then he could have had his mediocre rise and been able to walk away a sucess, but because they made him MJ w/o playing a game.. he could only fail.. and fail & fall did he ever.  Plus he's immature, and doesn't know how to handle it.. he never got to learn, because the media made him MJ w/o playing a game.. he wasn't allowed to grow up.  I hope this ends the medias obsession w/ naming kids MJ w/o playing a game... MJ deserves the respect, and we all deserve not to have media created monsters.

It's coming from a scrub and the Stars of that team don't care about Lebron as this clown does. He must go to be thinking about him and waking up with him on his mind. Classy not

Wow.  i'm listening to all of you complaining about this shirt.  Personally I love it.  It's funny, harmless and creative.  Oh wait but players are supposed to be role models right?  Lmao.  If you teach your kids that athletes are rolemodels than you shouldn't have children.  People lighten up, smile and enjoy life

You don't get it? Really? You need it spelled out for you? You need to know what the 1 letter is that is different that will make it make more sense? It's not made up language. Not one word in that sentence is "made up".

I don't get it? Seems kind of stupid and childish. Maybe if these guys wouldn't make up their own language, I could understand it.

C'mon Deshawn, keep it classy brotha.

As a Wizards fan, I totally get why Deshawn would wear this shirt, the bad blood goes back a few years, but this is taunting and if James had done something such as this, he would be treated as the incarnation of the devil. Stevenson needs to grow-up just a lil' bit. You just won a championship one year after playing for the Wizards, let's keep some perspective, Deshawn.

it's a joke, and it's mildly funny, like dwade's coughing joke. that said, as a mavs fan, it's not all that funny, and takes the focus off of the team. this is a look at me statement, which takes away from what the mavs are all about. is it a big deal? no. was it neccessary? no. who cares about this crap? just enjoy the title.
