The Sacramento Bee is reporting today that Evans is "probable" for Friday's game against the Pacers. Evans has missed the last 15 straight games because of plantar faciitis.
The report says that Evans is scrimmaging today for the first time since being cleared to practice last week. Kings coach Paul Westphal indicated Evans' playing time will come down to doctor advice and how Evans feels.
I'm definitely trying to resist any "See him for the last time Sacramento!" lines, but sadly, that very well could be the reality. With only a handful of home games remaining and the Anaheim move looking more and more likely, Kings fans might only get a couple more looks at Evans live and in person.Of course the season was over for the Kings months ago as they've fallen into the basement of the West, but at least Evans gives you a good reason to watch. When healthy, he's as exciting a player there is. Without him, Marcus Thornton has been starting at shooting guard and has put up pretty nice numbers. Add Evans back to the mix and now the Kings have a pretty good scoring option off the bench to add some punch.
